Currently currency exchange rate is provided automatically and one cannot change it. Typically one cannot buy other currency at official rate as the agent selling the currency also have some margin so we never buy money with the rate splitwise suggests. My idea is to make possible to specify custom exchange rate179 votes
Thanks for the suggestion. Makes sense, sorry it’s not there already. I’m going to leave it open for further voting.
so I know how much I spent on a trip by category21 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! I could see us adding this to the mobile apps, though it is currently available under trends in the web app.
It would be great if I could enter in Itemized Bill how many items did I buy and from there, the web app would multiply this amount by price for 1 piece to get the total price.
Lets say I bought 4 boxes of milk for $10 each.
Right now I would enter it like this:
4 Milks, $40
What I'd rather do is this:
Milk, 4 boxes, $10 each, total $40
This gives me better understanding of how many boxes did we bought and what was the price for 1 box.10 votes
Thanks for your suggestion! We’re not currently planning any significant changes to the itemized bill form, but I see how this would be a useful addition. I’ll leave this open for further voting and pass along the suggestion.
Connect to the Norwegian Vipps payment system by DNB, as about 3.6 million Norwegians use Vipps, but we want to settle up through Splitwise
make it possible to settle up through the Norwegian payment system by DNB, called Vipps.8 votes
We’d love to add more payment options and appreciate the suggestion! I’ll leave this under review for now. Thanks again for the suggestion!
And fast!64 votes
Interesting. I just had a look at Monzo’s API documentation: https://monzo.com/docs/#introduction it doesn’t seem like they support p2p transfers at the moment.
Splitwise is always looking to integrate with new payment partners across the world, if we get support for this in the future and there’s enough demand for it, we might consider implementing this in the future.
When added a link in the comment section is there any way to make it clickable3 votes

Thanks for the suggestions! I can see how this would be a useful feature. This is something we’ve been considering.
Plates is a great app. The best of its kind.
However, it would be nice to be able to display a list at the end, showing each person's name (or number) and the base, tip, tax, & total amounts for that person, with grand total at the end. Then the phone or tablet could be passed around the table so each person can see their amount due.
The list should be tabular, like a spreadsheet, with one row per person, and five columns for the name, base, tip, tax, total amounts.3 votes
Thanks for the feedback. I don’t think this is something we’re likely to do, but I’ll leave this up and see if it gets a lot of support. We do have requests to add names to plates in the app and tapping on each plate will show a breakdown of the total at the end, which seems like it would handle this use case.
When purchasing online or through apps, for Food, Groceries or any other ecommerce or shopping apps, directly provide a sdk for the apps to split the amount and easy access for the people splitting. Many a times people forget that they had paid for a group treat and then when re adding they have to check through bank statements or orders to know the exact amount. Splitting then and there would make it easier.4 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve considered doing something like this, I’ll leave this open for further voting for now. Thanks again!
if you have a group chat feature irrespective of the comments it would be very helpful43 votes

Expecting summary of individuals spends.8 votes
Could you add some more details about what exactly you mean by “summary of individuals spends”?
We have a club, where we would have about 10-15 people pay around $100 every 3 months, how can we set this up on an automated basis, so they get email reminders that we will take the money from them as agreed7 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We have a couple of features that come close to solving this issue (recurring expenses and reminders), but neither of them quite work in your case. We’ll take a look at this next time we’re working on either of these systems.
I am an international person and I use several international phone numbers. I would like to use all together in the same Splitewise account.20 votes
We hope to add multiple phone number support in the future as more and more people have multiple numbers but would like only a single Splitwise account.
The "simplify debts" setting should lock down once people start making payments. Alternatively, the person that created the group should be the only person able to change this setting.
Friends and I just had the issue where a large group of us were almost done settling up, but one person turned the setting off, made several payments, and affected people that were already done paying. They now owe more money somehow.2 votes
Thanks for the feedback! This makes a lot of sense. We currently lock simplify debts when someone has settled up and then left a group, but I can see how this case is problematic as well.
It would be great if it was possible to export reports in the ledger format (http://plaintextaccounting.org/)7 votes
Hi! Thanks for the interesting suggestion!
I’m going to leave this under review to see how many other users are interested in this as well.
I add cab ride and invite 3 people to "cab ride" group. The cost of cab ride should be split between me and 3 people. 2 people and myself join group so splitwise divides it by 3. 4th person then joins group and has to manually be added to expenses. This process becomes horrible when there are 20 people and many expenses for a weekend. Perhaps split up the settlements and expenses so I don't have to go hunting for items to add latecomers. Seriously, make it more like Excel, this interface is childish.46 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We have a few changes we need to make before this is possible, but it is something we might change.

Thanks for writing in with this! We’d like to improve our shortcuts for multiple languages. I apologize for the inconvenience for now.
visual or display differentiation on activities between added & updated activities or group the expenses as tree & all updates under it
User interface - Display of added and updates activities3 votes
Thanks for the feedback! Can you give us some more context on why you want this change? We do list them differently, so some help understanding what problem you’re having would be great.
I would like to have an option save the expenses somewhere so that I can submit it at a later time. Sometimes i don't want to submit bills in a hurry but want to document it so i don't forget.Thanks.15 votes
Thanks. I hear you. We’re hesitant to create a ‘staging site’ for bills because we think that may cause a lot of confusion — you’d have to remember which bills you had actually added versus ones you’d only partially added. You’d have to remember to revisit the app to actually submit expenses. We’re aware of the need and will keep thinking through how to best let you store info without necessarily pinging your friends. Cheers!
As I was creating an expense, I accidentally clicked outside the modal window, which cleared all the data I entered. This is very annoying. It should persist locally.3 votes
Thanks for the feedback! I can see how this would solve some problems in entering data from our web app.
