i use both the mobile and webapp. i love splitwise.
i have disabled adblock on splitwise webpage; while i cant afford to pay for this, i thought i would support you guys atleast in this way...

Would be nice to have splitwise handled as a bank account within YNAB. Or within any other budgeting app really. I guess what i'm saying is pretend you're a bank and offer an API which gives third party apps a secure, read-only view of 'transactions'.4 votes

There is a feature on splitwise mobile app to undelete the deleted expences but it is not present on website,see if it can be added on wesite also.2 votes

I have 2-3 friends with name "Amit", to know which Amit is who, I need to see the details of friend, on Desktop site, I am not seeing email Id of my friend.
This is causing confusion. Though in mobile app, email id of friend is being displayed.1 vote
Hey thanks for the feedback. If you hover your mouse over your friend’s name it should show you your friend’s email address.
I suggest that you can reverse when you say you paid what you owe or someone paid as you can made mistakes and it should be possible to fix

You can simply edit the expense and change the payers and those who owe money to fix it.
When a user clicks on a friend's name in dashboard, only the expenses including logged in user and that friend should be displayed instead of all expenses. This will help in faster tracking of balance between two members.1 vote

could you add an option to have a chart based display of expenses for 5-6 major categories e.g. rent, food, shopping, fun, travel etc..2 votes
We support this on the web. Open “all expenses”, click “trends” on the right, then “view full charts”. Cheers!
Hi! When I receive a notification that someone has added me to a group, and I click "Visit now", I'm directed to my Splitwise homepage, not the specific group. Seems like it would be helpful to be taken directly to the group.2 votes
Hmm…I just double-checked, and our “added to a group” email already appears to work this way (e.g. when you click the link, it takes you directly to the new group). If you’re experiencing something different, could you forward the email you received to email@example.com, so we can look into it? Thanks!
Sometimes it will be best if you show that "Vikram Spent 350£ total in this group". This will exclude only my expense, not what I paid for others.6 votes

if it is not completely settlement then it allow u to enter how much money is settled and how much is left
I am using this and sometime we had a problem beacuse everytime we don't settle completely so please add a option if it is not full settlement then how much is settled and how much is left1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion! When you’re settling up, you should be able to edit the amount to add a partial settlement.
It would be nice to see a grand total of all expenses for individual groups. I realize this can be done by exporting the data then adding it up, but it just seems like an inefficient process that can be eliminated by inserting a simple sum function.9 votes
Group totals exist as a feature on both iOS and Android, and on the website, you can see totals in a group by going to “View printable summary” from the month header above your expenses in the list, and choosing “all time” as the date range on the top right corner.

There shall be an option of exporting the balances to excel in a similar way as "detailed statement of bank account".6 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! You should be able to export a friendship or group to a spreadsheet from the more menu on those screens.
Sometimes I want to go way back in the expense history without needing to keep clicking "see more" I just want to see them all in like a csv or something. It might also be nice to be able to see certain types of expenses, like all the ones marked as "rent" or "utilities".1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion! It sounds like CSV export (in a group or friend under the right side menu) would do what you’re looking for.
The string "Ver un resume imprimible" should actually be "Ver un resumen imprimible" i.e. resume -> resumen
Furthermore, when clicking on this printable view link, the view is in English, when it should be in Spanish!1 vote

Hi Splitwise Team,
On the webapp, when the settings are configured to use the Indian Rupee Symbol (INR Currency): Only a question mark is displayed instead of the actual INR symbol.
Suggesting to repair this.

From your account settings page, you can change your default currency to INR, and the app will update to display the rupee symbol. The reason why we don’t automatically display symbols for non-default currencies is because some currencies use the same symbol, and it can become ambiguous (for example, MXN and USD both use the $ sign). Hope this helps!
This may be a bit pedantic, but the splitting should keep track of remainder pennies across expenses and itemized bills within, to keep it more fair. For instance, if you have an itemized bill with multiple charges of 0.99, and split between two people, in each item, whoever's first pays the extra penny (0.50 / 0.49). This means that if you have a lot of these expenses in one bill (e.g. 99p Stores here in the UK), the bill gets more and more unevenly split based on nothing but alphabetical order of the splittees' names.3 votes
Update: all of our apps should now redistribute pennies randomly. Tracking pennies is fairly complicated and unlikely to be much better than random distribution.
Sorry for the trouble! The way we split pennies is a bit inconsistent based on which version of our app you’re using, but we do generally try to be fair, usually by distributing the extra pennies randomly. This is definitely somewhere we want to keep improving – for now, apologies for the inconvenience!
