if same people are involved in two different houses (or even if few people are common), there should be an option to merge the expenses from both households if people wanted to...that would make it more convenient1 vote
If you’re using the same email address for a person in two different houses, then that person should be able to see all of their combined debts on the web, either by viewing the “All expenses” screen or looking at their account summary on the Dashboard. We hope to bring those features to our mobile apps very soon!
sometimes my friends pay x out of (x+y) amount. I need an option to record partial payments1 vote
Hey thanks for the feedback! When you are settling up you can edit the amount to do a partial payment.
When I have a single friend in more than one group and I settle accounts with them, the settlement does not nullify the dues in the group windows. I LOVE SPLITWISE, but I'd die for it if you made this change :)1 vote
This is now available on web and iPhone.
make sure logging in with google or facebook doesn't create a new account with a different name under the same email address.1 vote
Hey Alex – logging in with Google/Facebook actually works this way already! If you have an existing account with the same email address as your Google or Facebook account, then Splitwise will simply log you into that account. (Splitwise doesn’t allow multiple accounts with the same email address.)
On each expanse it shows the time like.. 3 days ago,2 weeks ago..
But there should be a exact date and time on activities.
And a search feature so than one can easily search the particular expanse..
Thanks for the message! We don’t plan to show exact dates in the recent activity feed, but you can tap a recent activity feed item to view a specific expense, and THAT should include the exact date.
Search is a part of Splitwise Pro, our optional pro version. If you’re interested, you can subscribe to Splitwise Pro at https://secure.splitwise.com/pro/subscribe :)
It would be very helpful if we can receive emails whenever some one shares a bill with us, or makes a payment.
Overall the site is very impressive and useful.
Good work!0 votes
Actually, there is a user setting for that! Go to the drop-down menu in the top right of the screen, and click on “My Account.” On the right hand side, you can change your notification preferences so that you are emailed every time you are paid, added as a friend, an expense is created, etc.
Hope this helps!
At the moment, in a group I can only see who owes me and to whom I owe. As a group of students we use this app to administrate all our expenses and usually people who have a lot of outstanding debt are required to make the next payment. Unfortunately this is not possible with this ap because you cannot see who has the most debt of the total group, instead one can only see who has the most debt to himself only.0 votes
I would be better to keep already settled contacts as hidden in friends list or keep them to the bottom.0 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Right now, if you’re settled up with someone and have had no activity with that person for more than 40 days, we hide them in your balance lists.
