is it possible to integrate UPI (UNIFIED PAYMENT SYSTEM) for Indian users ??
UPI is a payment method introduced in India to transact between users and organisation. it would simplify the transactions between users if that can be integrated to Splitwise ✌
Thanks for suggesting UPI as a payment method. We’re looking into UPI, and would like to know your thoughts on how you’d like Splitwise to support UPI:
- Integrate with a UPI app like BHIM or PhonePe
- Integrate with your banking app
- Let you send money to a virtual address, phone #, or IFSC from within Splitwise
- Something else?
Please let us know in the comments!

Tez is a globalised platform for UPI, with Google's support and security you can blindly go for it, this would be a top-notch addition to payment options for Indians

Yes definitely integrating with apps like BHIM or TEZ from google will make our life easier.
AON we have to transfer in respective apps and come back to Splitwise and do the settle up button, instead settle up button itself can handle payment to respective party in the group will be much simpler and easy to use.

Settle of payment
You have created awesome application, but every we need to take help from other payment gateway for settlement. Please start an own gateway or collaboration with any other gateway. UPI is best option for you. Like Phonepay or Tez.

instead of BHIM, you can integrate with a 3rd party app like you did with Paytm. you can even strike a deal with them to have a share in profits.
going forward, UPI is going to be the way India transfers money. hence you must consider integrating it into the app.

India has this payment protocol called UPI which simplifies the payment process very simply. it is already being used by banks and Google has an app based on it called Tez. even the government of India has developed an app based on it. WhatsApp also has plans on bringing UPI into its ecosystem. once you bring UPI or link to an app that already uses UPI it would simplify the process of settling up to a great extent. I do realise Paytm is already a feature but since transferring to the bank account via Paytm is chargeable against a fee, UPI would definitely encourage people to settle up in a cashless manner.

Integrate it with a UPI app like TEZ or BHIM
Add and option to pay through Samsung Pay as well :)
Integrating it with a UPI app would be really useful for all Indian users.
Moreover, allowing us to send money to a virtual address from within Splitwise could work just as good.
Just make sure that splitwise saves the virtual addresses after the payment so we won't have to type it again.
Hope you do it soon.

There are still changes and outages in BHIM or PhonePe. Hence the best option would be Splitwise would "Let you send money to a virtual address, phone #, or IFSC from within Splitwise"
