I'm into my second year using Splitwise and I really enjoy it.

I use to manage all utility bills in a student house in the UK.

The way electricity and gas bills are done in the UK is on credit meters and commonly now a house's yearly usage is estimated and payments averaged over 12 months. And I have to take monthly meter readings for the utility company. This is naturally a nightmare to organize splitting my gas and electric bills. Because often housemates are away, so it's not a simple split.

What I currently do is manually calculate the bills with help of a spreadsheet. I do this based on the meter readings because I don't get bills regularly.

It would AMAZING if splitwise could have a new 'meters feature' whereby you set the meter tariff details.
e.g.
Electricity Unit Rate: 12.4p per kWh
Electricity Standing Charge: 27p per day
Gas Unit Rate: 2.63p per kWh
Gas Standing Charge: 22p per day

simply enter the current meter reading and it calculates the bill since your last meter reading. All your fantastic split features would fit in perfectly, you could just enter the number of days everyone has been in the house since the last reading.

It would be a feature I've not seen anywhere else.
