Save unequal split settings
I always pay 2/3 and roommate pays 1/3 (i sublet one of the rooms, but think couples). % split is great but would be nice not to have to type 66.67 and 33.33 every time.
So sorry for the trouble! This is on our list of possible improvements for the future – I can’t say exactly when it’ll be added, but we know it’d be a useful improvement. In the meantime, our apologies for the inconvenience!

like others, we are a group of people (some individuals, some families) organizing trips, going out for dinners etc. it makes no sense to have to list out individual family members

Like Angela, my and my partners income is patently different. It'd be great to have a group for items that are split by "income" shares such housing, utilities. And obviously a group for full splitting like Splitwise already does such as meals, trips, etc.
As an idea for non-partner groups, having income based information in the individual members profile would protect privacy from other members.

It may be a while before Splitwise implements this, but there is a hack for this.
Suppose you split 66/33 with your friend. Make a group in which you have yourself, your friend and your shadow account.
This shadow account is simply your second account with another email address. So now when you enter an expense and split it equally, you'll get 2 parts of it and your friend gets the third part, automatically!
Same thing can be done with most of the commonly used ratios, but the number of shadow accounts will vary case by case.

This would be great because for a trip with 'couples', they would always pay twice.
I don't want to add them individually, because then it is untidy with settling - the couple would settle as one payment.
All the other tools I've used support this feature already so am surprised you don't see a need for it.

My partner and I split everything 35% / 65% due to our income disparity. I'd love to set our group to default to that split!

Along with % split, splitwise can easily implement ratio split. In that case you won't have to write 66.67 and 33.33 but just 2 and 1 as in 2:1 ratio.

I would love to be able to set a default split type for a group. I have a group that I always want split 1-1-2, but I have to enter this every time. It seems kind of silly to have all these features that let you figure out what a fair split is but then not have a way to save the fair split.

+1 for me (or +3 because that's how I voted). I'm hoping that this isn't such a low-requested feature nowadays seeing how it's on the Hot Ideas page.

I definitely would like to add my support for this change too. If you do have an uneven split, it would be nice to define it at the group level so that all the transactions for that group have those proportions going forward.

I would really like this feature too. My roommate and I always split 40/60 and it would be very convenient to have this as a default setting at group level.

This feature is the most demanded. For example, you can add "default split rate" as a part of Group settings.

I would really appreciate his feature too!

Would love to see this as a group setting. That way households or other groups can set their default split rate, then not have to think about it again.

Yes this feature would be highly usefull. we are a group of six guys that ussually divide equaly, however, when the family is with us we end up having to divide 30+ shares between the six as one is single other are couples without children and some have four children.
I have even considered switching to other splitting services but that probably wont happen allthough should we start again I would definately consider looking for this option.

Yes, or default share-levels would be great.
For example my wife and I each pay 2 shares for food, another couple also 2 shares, and a single dude pays one share. I'd love to have that be the default.
