Please add a date wise separator so that expenses can be segregated between dates of a trip.11 votes
Just to be clear: are you asking for each day’s expenses (e.g. June 1, June 2, etc) to be separated? If so, I’ll pass on that suggestion and see what the rest of the team thinks.
Backup from phone11 votes
Thanks for the follow-up! We include a more comprehensive backup option in Splitwise Pro on web only right now that we will probably bring to mobile eventually. If you have Splitwise Pro (available in your web account settings) there is an option to export a full backup of your entire account under advanced settings in your web account settings.
to include a calendar screen to check the expenses on a particular day or even enable the expenses to be posted on Google calendar
add a calendar screen to check expenses in past 2. Add expenses to google calendar11 votes
Ooh, interesting suggestion! This isn’t on our roadmap right now, but I’ll add it to our list of possible improvements for future updates.
Please consider a first year free and subsequently a $1/year subscription model like WhatsApp used to have.
Occasionally Splitwise will ask me to consider paying $x/month. I use Splitwise just once or twice a month for splitting movie tickets and dinner with friends. A monthly subscription would be a little too much but I am open to paying a $1 fee per year even for the non-Pro version like what WhatsApp used to have.11 votes
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for the suggestion! I can see how this’d be useful, so I’ll add it to our list of possible improvements for the future.
I can translate the application.10 votes
Thanks for the offer! We’d definitely like to add more languages in the future – when we’re ready for Ukrainian, we’ll let you know!
If we can have the email summary for the expenses for all / some participants then it would be great.
Please look in the email summary of Share-a-bill app for iphone for an example.10 votes
We plan on making some more email reminder choices for groups in the near future. I can understand why in bigger groups going through each person and sending them a single email instead of the whole group could be frustrating.
Sorry for the trouble! I’ll pass on your suggestion. For now, you should be able to download your receipts by logging in to your account on our website, or you can take a screenshot of the receipt and share that picture. Hopefully we can improve this soon! :)
Develop new icons for each expense! Like coffee, rent, laundry...!!10 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We do have icons/categories for a lot of different kinds of bills, like rent and groceries, and we hope to add more over time.
I travel a lot and have to remember to set my default currency at the beginning and end of every trip, or alternatively change currency with every expense added (yawn!). Would be great to have the OPTION of location awareness. If turned on it would choose the currency of whatever country I'm in and perhaps a simple override button to use my default currency.10 votes
Thanks for the great idea! Allowing an option of location awareness for this makes sense.
become an Open Banking app using PSD2 in Europe and reading bank transactions directly and initiate payments
With the Payment service directive 2 you can read bank transactions which can be added and linked to a group and you can also initiate the payments which settle those payments. ALL European banks must provide this access if their customer requests it via APIs. If you have any questions on this contact me. A fan of splitwise having used it for more than 5 years10 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass a note about this along to the team.
There's a lot of confusion when people start adding bills and the numbers owed keep changing. It would be better if we could all add our bills for a trip and then once that is complete, trigger the notifications. No need to get so many texts until a trip is all tallied.9 votes
Sorry for the trouble! We generally try to send notifications for expenses as soon as things happen, as most groups (apartments, etc) are used slowly over long periods of time, but I can see how this’d be useful in cases like yours.
detect category when added through quick-add. Doesnt work when you type taxi/food; but works for dinner. I now classify all food as dinner
Ex: Dinner 50 & Groceries 100 works, but lunch 50 and taxi 100 doesnt9 votes
Thanks for the message! We’ve definitely been meaning to improve our category detection for quick-add (and for normal bills, too) – I’m hoping we’ll get a chance to do that by the end of the year. Until then, sorry for the trouble!
It would be very useful to sort the categories by "most used".9 votes
Thanks for your suggestion Matteo. We are about to add many more words to the autocategorization library which will hopefully speed the process of categorizing a bill up a bit. We can consider this for our next round of work on that feature.
In a apartment or home group, where the names are listed who owes what, you should be able to tap their names and see a detailed summary of exactly what they owe per bill9 votes
We plan on making the amounts that people owe easier to read and better organized down the road. I really like the idea of clicking on the name and having it shuffle so you only see what their amounts are.
Please support Hebrew language. Beside that it is great!8 votes
We’re working with translators to bring our app to many more languages so stay tuned!
As in Webapp, the CSV export is not useful : there is no total expense, and no detail of repartition. I recommend finding example on the ShareTheBill app with an excellent export tool, and wonderfull layout (i have example on old holidays data);
In France, CSV is not well recognized because of separator trouble, and a replacement in text editor is not enough because also the decimal will be changed... Could it be options to define separators before?8 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Have you taken a look at the monthly PDF export for groups on the website? The csv export is meant as a simple summary, not something that would include lots of details.
Connect to the Norwegian Vipps payment system by DNB, as about 3.6 million Norwegians use Vipps, but we want to settle up through Splitwise
make it possible to settle up through the Norwegian payment system by DNB, called Vipps.8 votes
We’d love to add more payment options and appreciate the suggestion! I’ll leave this under review for now. Thanks again for the suggestion!
We’d love to add Russian as a language option in the future! Sorry that it’s not available yet.
Title is explicit enough, I guess8 votes
Thanks for suggesting Lydia as a payment option! I’ll leave this open for now for further voting.
