   Thanks for the suggestion – I can see how that would be useful! Our travel calculator (http://splitwise.com/calculators/travel) does something like this, so it is a problem we’ve thought about before, though not exactly in this way. I’ll pass on your idea and add it to our list of possible future updates.

   For example,

   John paid for power bill for 1st May to 31st May.

   James been share house with John from 1st May to 31st May.

   However Bob just moved in from 9th May, so that will be 9th May to 31st May.

   So by adding the date calculation in split by shares. The System will be able to automatically knows how many shares allocate to each person in this power bill.
