Thanks for suggesting UPI as a payment method. We’re looking into UPI, and would like to know your thoughts on how you’d like Splitwise to support UPI:

    - Integrate with a UPI app like BHIM or PhonePe
    - Integrate with your banking app
    - Let you send money to a virtual address, phone #, or IFSC from within Splitwise
    - Something else?

Please let us know in the comments!

India has this payment protocol called UPI which simplifies the payment process very simply. it is already being used by banks and Google has an app based on it called Tez. even the government of India has developed an app based on it. WhatsApp also has plans on bringing UPI into its ecosystem. once you bring UPI or link to an app that already uses UPI it would simplify the process of settling up to a great extent. I do realise Paytm is already a feature but since transferring to the bank account via Paytm is chargeable against a fee, UPI would definitely encourage people to settle up in a cashless manner.
