Thanks for the suggestion! I’m not sure this is something we’re going to add but I’ll leave it open for further voting for now.
We agree that managing recurring bills could be better. Currently, the way to edit recurring bills is to change the most recent copy and that will change ones that follow. It will not affect the past expenses.
We’re considering how to improve this, and will leave this under review for now.
+1 for recurring expenses
Thanks for the suggestion! I can definitely see how this would be useful, especially for muting certain groups. I’ll add it to our list of possible future improvements.
Makes sense. I will leave under review to allow further voting to see how many others need this.
Makes sense! I’ll pass on the suggestion – this sounds like a nice feature to add when we have some free time :)
Hey there – very sorry for the trouble! We would love to add a “this is how I like to be repaid” feature that would let you specify your favorite payment services and the IDs you use on each platform. Can’t say exactly when this will get implemented (we’re a really tiny team) but it’s on the radar. Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for writing in with your suggestion! We’ll leave under review for further voting.
Zelle Pay is going to be the most preferred online payment as it is considered to be the safest mode of transfer via one’s own bank app.
Whoops, we’re still considering this idea. It does sounds like a useful improvement in the add expense form.
This should be logical way of splitting the bills
Due date will help setting the bills quickly
We do allow you to send reminders via email in the app and on the website you can grab a printable group summary from the group expense list month headers. I’m not sure if we’ll ever support whatsapp directly, but we’ll consider it if this gets a lot of votes.
Considering WhatsApp has become an ubiquitous messaging app, reminding thru WhatsApp is an important feature required.
As of late 2015, Google Wallet does not currently have a public API for person-to-person payments, so unfortunately there’s not a way for us to integrate with them directly. If Google adds that ability at some point in the future, then we’d love to consider this!
Is it possible to add circle pay as one of the payment options? This may allow crypto currency settlements in the future.
Thanks for posting and clarifying. We’ll leave this open for further voting and comments.
You can add two categories - current and archived. This is how Asana.com allows the users to manage the inbox notifications
Thanks for suggesting Circle as a payment option! We’ll leave this open for further voting.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll add this to our list of possible improvements for the future. For now, of course, you can always use the “Paid by multiple people” option and manually enter an amount for each person who paid – though I realize that’s not super convenient if you’re just trying to split the total across 2 or 3 people :)
I tried to use "Paid by multiple people" option. I paid my share to the first person. But the system still shows that I owe my share to the second person.
I am in need of this feature. Now I have a group expense where 2 different members paid 2 different amounts. I am trying to split it across a group of 17 members.
We’ve actually talked about this idea before – we think it’s a very neat concept, but we’re not sure if it merits inclusion in the core Splitwise app, since a lot of Splitwise users actually don’t use Splitwise in this way. However, it’s a great idea for a separate app, either from us in the future or from a 3rd-party developer using our API (http://dev.splitwise.com). Maybe someday! :)
Thanks for the suggestion! We have a couple of features that come close to solving this issue (recurring expenses and reminders), but neither of them quite work in your case. We’ll take a look at this next time we’re working on either of these systems.
Interesting idea! We’ll definitely bring it up in our next feature-planning meeting :)
Sorry for the trouble! It’d definitely be interesting to transfer money directly through Splitwise (without using PayPal/Venmo/Square Cash/etc). We haven’t built that feature so far because there are a lot of regulations around transferring money, and we’d need to do a lot of technical and legal work, but it’s on our list of possible things to do in the future.
Hey Navneet! We support a few options in the US (PayPal and Venmo), and we just added an integration with Paytm for our Indian users. We’d love to add more. Hopefully in the future!
This is an idea that I think would be a great addition to the site. I’m not sure when we could fit it in our schedule, but it’s something I think would be a useful way to organize expenses.
