Search is now a Pro feature on both our website and our mobile apps.
You can sign up for Pro from the account settings page on our website, or by going directly to https://secure.splitwise.com/pro/subscribe.
In addition to adding a simple search functionality to the mobile app - there also needs to be a way to quickly view all expenses by a category, user or vendor. Use case example: I need to make sure that I've added my monthly utility bill into Splitwise. Without filtering or search, i have to scroll back thru all my expenses and scan and hunt for a bill name. If there was filtering I could press a button and see all those bills listed.
Thanks for the detailed feedback – it’s always useful to hear, and I’ll pass it on :)
One small feature you may not be aware of: on our website, Splitwise does allow you to add group members without email addresses, which hopefully helps for the “large party” scenario. My apologies that the same feature isn’t available on our mobile apps!
Yes, this is a huge pain and forces me to use other group cost-splitting services instead of Splitwise. I understand this feature is available on the web - odd that it's missing on mobile. The mobile app should be just as robust as the web app, if not more so.
Sorry for the trouble! We’d definitely like to add more explicit confirmation for PayPal/Venmo payments in the future, and we’ve been working on the ability for a Splitwise user to have multiple email addresses for their account (e.g. one for PayPal, one for Venmo, etc). Hopefully we can make more improvements in this area this year.
Love the integration with Venmo! However there's no way to specify your venmo account or handle in the app. It looks like the email values are just getting passed, but that presents an issue if you are using different emails between Splitwise and Venmo.
This is something we’ve considered in the past. We haven’t found a way to do this that we like yet. We’re going to leave this under review for further voting.
We’d love to integrate with Mint, but the decision is mostly on Mint’s side. If you’d like Mint to add Splitwise, you can let them know in the comments here:
