Thanks for the suggestion! We have a very basic version of this on our website – the “Simplify debts with this person” button, buried under friend settings – but it’s very hard to find, and it’s not very powerful (you can’t specify which group you want to move balances into). I’ll pass on a note about this and see if we can clean up that feature at some point soon :)

This would be useful for closing groups that were created for a one time event and you want to get rid of. I've missed a feature like this quite a few times.

We just added a very basic calculator function to our web app, so you can now use basic mathematical operations when entering a cost (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). We hope to add similar features to our mobile apps at some point in the future!

Yes please; I'm tired of having to switch to the calculator app to add all the items and then copy the result on Splitwise every time I go shopping.

Interesting – I’ll pass on the suggestion! Can I ask how many people are in your group? I want to make sure I understand your use case as well as possible…most groups on Splitwise involve 3-5 people, so I think we figured that you’d usually be able to see everyone’s balance at a glance even without sorting.

When I open the app, I want to see the groups I use most often first on the list, so that I can quickly find them to add a new expense. Sorting groups by most recent activity instead of alphabetically would address that, making the application easier to use.
