Sorry for the trouble! We try to strike a good balance between image size and picture quality (I think we generally crop images to 1000×1000px). I’m not sure we’ll add a manual setting for image quality, but hopefully we can keep making improvements to allow for better images.

Interesting idea! This isn’t anywhere on our timeline yet, but I’ll pass on the suggestion and add it to our list of possible future improvements.

I think you should consider this. I need receipts in higher quality with Backup so this would be perfect

Being able to enter a URL when trying to add a photo seems like a really neat idea. I could see how not having to carry around a copy of the file would make lives easier when trying to input bill pics. I’ll bring it up at our next meeting and see if it’s something we’d like to do and when it can fit on our roadmap.

But the scaling down brings the quality down and on big receipts with fine print you can't read anything for example. I love the app its the best one around but I'm forced to go with others apps which are shit but allow full size images. Maybe integrate Google Drive or cloud service if you can't handle big files. Would also function as a backup if splitwise doesn't work or the phone gets wiped etc
