Windows Phone app
The smartphone ecosystem is getting wider now with Windows Phone...it would be very nice if you had an app in the Windows Marketplace as well, like you have for iPhone and Android. Thanks!
326 votesSplitwise-the-company is a bit too small to build our own Windows Phone app right now, unfortunately. (We’re only a few engineers, and we’ve already got our hands full with iPhone, Android, and web!) However, there are now three 3rd party Windows Phone apps: “Splittr”, “Centwise”, and “Split It”. They are not created by Splitwise, but act as a Splitwise client.
Splittr works on WP7.5 and up. http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/splittr/d2307de6-10c0-4b5c-9527-7c549370a447
Centwise works on WP7.5 and up. http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/centwise/faeb5f7b-fbb6-41c6-8fac-17d81dae703d
Split It works on WP8 and up. http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/split-it/df492da8-c150-46aa-8d70-be96a8fdafda
Check out our blog posts about them:

http://blog.splitwise.com/2013/03/22/centwise-windows-phone-7-5-splittr-updates/Splitwise currently has no plans for an official Windows Phone app, but we’re very thankful to the developers who have used our API and made their own – thanks a lot!

Update Android app to follow Android Design Principles
I've read other idea responses saying an update is coming, but in case this isn't included...
The Android app needs to follow the android design guidelines. It looks like an iPhone app, there's no response to button presses, as they are just static images, and it simply does not follow the android design principles that can be seen here: http://developer.android.com/design/get-started/principles.html.
68 votesWe’ve just released v3.0 of our Android app, which has been totally redesigned for Android. It also has lots of new features and bug fixes. We hope you like it!

Allow Push Notifications from Splitwise (instead of email)
The current app does a great job of emailing at every action, but after a while these can add up. If possible, SplitWise should store which platform each account holder uses and notify them via push notifications. These can be short, to the point, and would always keep people in the loop.
Plus, email is always a backup, if users choose!
54 votesPush notifications are now included in our apps for both iPhone and Android. Enjoy! :)

Recording a payment
Suppose A paid B a sum of $ x. When that payment is recorded, the mobile app, in my opinion, incorrectly says "B paid A $ x". It should be the other way round. Its confusing if you put it that way. The overall balances settle up correctly but the description of the payment on the Android app is confusing.
6 votesWhoops, we fixed this a while ago, sorry for the late response here!

Offline mode for mobile
Quite disappointed when I found out your app does not work offline.
78 votesNOTE: if you are upset that iPhone or Android offline mode does not work in the way that you want, please vote for or add a new idea about your specific issue. I suspect this issue covers most problems related to this idea now: http://feedback.splitwise.com/forums/162446-general/suggestions/9786933-improve-offline-mode-in-iphone-app
It’s much easier for us to figure out what work is important to do next if we have votes for specific problems.
Our iPhone and Android apps now both include offline mode. Offline allows you to add and remove expenses with existing friends and groups, even when you don’t have an internet connection. Any changes you make will be synced later, when you have an internet connection again.

My Expenses
Is there a feature to show me what my expenses are and how they are distributed over the different groups I am in.
3 votesThis is now available on all platforms.

Summary
There should be a summary of the total expenses to be paid for and to be collected and NET.
Somewhere in the app you need to display TOTAL to be paid, TOTAL to be collected and the NET status.
4 votesWe now show this on the Dashbord for web, iPhone and Android.

Enable "Pay via Paypal" on your mobile app.
The "Pay via Paypal" feature is the best! Add that to the mobile app to make this service a thousand times better!
12 votesYou can do this on Android and iPhone now!

to include the settling up function in the mobile app as well.
I am very mch impressed by Splitwise and its use for students especially. The "Settle Up" function in the web version is the best feature. But this feature is not included in the mobile application (iOS). As we students heavily depend on mobiles for day to day activities, it would be great addition and improvement to the application.
Thank you once again

Color coded transactions in iPhone app
Presently the transactions are not color coded for debit and credit for individual people inside the iPhone App. Its difficult to differentiate without color coding. Good idea to have color coding for these transactions. It can be similar to the color coding on dash board.
6 votesThere is now a color-coded byline on each expense in the list.

on removing some1 instead of "Mohit removed you as friend" say "Mohit doesn't want to keep track of expenses with you anymore"
when I remove someone it means I don't want to track expenses with that person anymore. so instead of saying "Mohit removed you as a friend" say "Mohit removed you from splitwise, as he doesn't want to track expenses with you anymore, He still wants you as his friend"
4 votesWe recently updated this notification to say “Sarah removed you from their friends list”, instead of “as a friend”. We hope this helps!

Give Tagging option for expenses. So that we can filter by tag and able to see expenses only for tagged items.
For example, friends are going for long trip and created splitwise group. if we marked expenses like 'FOOD' , PETROL , ALCOHOL, and etc.
at the end of trip friends can able to see individually how much they spent for FOOD, PETROL and ALCOHOL and etc
2 votesHello! You can assign a category to any expense. To do this, please tap the icon to the left of the amount field when you’re adding the expense. We support spending-by-category breakdowns on the web (splitwise.com) and hope to bring the same to mobile soon, too. Cheers!

Let the user choose the settled up contacts to display in the main screen or hide the settled up contacts.
Suppose a contact is settled up then hide the contact on the main screen
1 voteHello! After you’ve been all settled up with someone for 30 days, Splitwise will autohide them from view. You can see old, settled contacts and groups by tapping the “tap to show old settled friends/groups” button in the app. We may consider adding a manual hide feature in the future.

You can move an expense from a friendship into a group (or vice versa) by following these steps:
1. Tap/click to edit the expense
2. Tap/click where it says ‘No Group’ on the edit a bill form
3. Select the group you’d like to move the expense to from your list of groups -
Single person renting more than one room- rent calculator
I share one room with my partner and rent one room as a workspace. The calculator seems to assume one person/room, unless renting as a couple. I am not sharing the communal spaces as two people but as one person! Explaining this to housemates doesn't seem straightforward.
1 voteThanks for the feedback! There should be a “Room shared by two people” checkbox when you go through the calculator, though it’s tucked away in the “Other factors” section.
