allow expense to be tracked to a given budget
i.e. if our household (group) budget is 100 USD a month, split wise shows us how much we have spent of that to date - how much has been spent as allocated to the grocery expense category vs what was defined as the budget. Would be great if we could set budgets for each expense category.
Would make a great tool even better at helping us control spend! Seeing a visual budget is much more motivating ;)
Budgets definitely make a lot of sense. They’re not a feature on our roadmap yet (we’re a tiny team, and still focused on other improvements), but hopefully they’re something we can work on in the future.

Each person add equal particular amount at the starting of each month in a group then every expense is deleted from that sum than at the end of month everyone should recieve what is left equally or should give what is paid extra.

This would be awesome. You have a great iOS app, and right now I need to make entries in Splitwise and then in my Spending app. If budgeting was built into Splitwise then it saves me that additional step.

Although maybe not 100% the objective of the tool (split expenses), it would make sense to allow to set a budget of expenses and track the difference. I suggest the app "home budget" for inspiration.

It would also be great if one could use an application like this to track the budget for clubs or small non-profits

Or integration with another service as Aaron suggests. T

Please let us know if it will be possible to add this functionality . Again, would pay for a service that allows both expense sharing and budgeting. Cheers, T

I think this is related to the separate thread about integrating Splitwise with Mint.com
Mint already has a fantastic and very well designed visual budgeting capability. Integrating with them would be a winning combination!!

Any movement on this? I am trying to choose between Toshl and Splitwise. I need the ability to share expenses and do simple budgeting. Willing to pay for a service that integrates both.
Great product, thanks!
