Currency conversion
When I went to Cancun, I charged/paid for things at different locations and at each location, there was a different exchange rate for the peso to USD. I would like to suggest a way to set the exchange rate for each item when doing a "trip" group. I ended up having to manually calculate the conversion and split it up each night for a group of 16.

Currency conversion is now included with our premium version, Splitwise Pro (https://secure.splitwise.com/pro/subscribe). Right now, it’s a web-only feature, but we hope to add it to our mobile apps in the future!
On the web, if you click on a friend or group in the left sidebar, then click the settings icon at the top of the right sidebar, you’ll see an option to convert all transactions with that friend/group to your default currency, using the current market exchange rate. You’ll also see a suggestion to convert currencies appear automatically when viewing a group with balances in multiple currencies.
Hope this helps a bit! We’d definitely like to continue improving multiple currency support over time – I can’t say how quickly that will happen, as we’re a very tiny team, but it remains on our to-do list for the future. If you have suggestions or feedback, feel free to comment on this post and let us know. Thanks!

Incorporate exchange rates for people traveling in foreign countries.

When multiple currencies are owed as part of a group trip, they should be combined into one chosen master currency at a live market rate. This would it make it easier to settle without having to do conversions using third party converters and additional math.

Allow for a function to change all currencies in a group to a single one with a quoted spot rate to avoid having multiple currencies and allow further simplifying of debts.

It's good if we can enter an exchange rate to convert all currencies to a single unit.

Try to add an Option to use multiple currencies with in same group! This is very useful for International trips expenses sharing when you travel multiple countries having different currencies. With present version of Splitwise, it is not possible to change currency once you fix in the beginning.
Also, integration of real time currency conversion (as an optional choice) would be helpful. -

For international trip and payments in different currency, a currency converter would be a great add on. It could be either entering the rate manually or connected to Google but being able to do it in the app itself will save some time and steps.

Needs custom rate ASAP. Also, not sure if the decimal points go to enough significance. For example it says 1 COP = 0.0003 USD but it's actually 0.00035 which makes a big difference if it's actually rounded.

Great, but let us add our own custom rate please. Bank rate differs a lot from the official exchange rate. I really looked forward to the exchange rate function, but not that it's finally here I cannot use it because the THB > EUR rate states it's 38,9, while my bank uses 37,3 as an exchange rate.

Convert expenses paid in different currencies to the 'home currency'. Useful if on holiday and things are paid for in different currencies. Can choose to convert using fx rate at time of expense incurred, or at time of settling up. Set up partnership with recognised fx provider (XE) for accuracy.

- It is terrible that currencies can't merge. I use splitwise for trips and travels where we spend both DKK and EUR. What i get from splitwise is two separate calculations. Examples: I owe my friend 10 EUR, and he owes me 50 DKK. Please just calculate the total. And add the function to customize the rate, so that it fits the bank's rate, and not just the standard rate.
- It sucks that I have to scroll for my currency. Just add "favorite currency", "recent currency" and "default currency" functions. -

Add the ability to track the interbank rate so that expenses can all be converted into one settlement currency (e.g. GBP) from multiple expense actual currencies : e.g. GBP, USD, EUR

Please integrate instant currency conversion directly into the iPhone app. I would like to see the consolidated debts (no matter how many currencies used on a trip) of my friends immediately after I entered it. We all want to see on the go how much the trip is for each of us in our home currency. I would be happily paying for a "pro" app. I hardly use the web interface though...

I'd also love to see the ability to convert at a custom rate per-group. On my trip we spent money in EUR and MAD, and we agreed fixed exchange rates for the whole trip for anything we owed each other. To make this work we had to take the splitwise report, do the maths manually, transfer the right amount in GBP (our local currency) and then add multiple settle up transactions to splitwise in MAD or EUR.
It's particularly annoying if the EUR and MAD balances would net off against each other. We can do the netting in the GBP payment but the splitwise settling transactions have to artificially show money going back the other way.

In splitwise Pro you can convert currency of all expenses. This modifies all the expenses and makes it hard to recognize expenses, because their value is totally diffrent.
It would be nice to be able to convert balance only - ie if person owes dollars and euro, you can convert euro to dollars at given exchange rate. Right now it is possible to do it like this - if person owes me $45 and 30E, I can add payment from him to me of 30E and add a payment from me to him of $33. -

It wold be great to be able to specify the currency rate for a group. An example: Today Splitwise claims 1 CHF = 8.6412 NOK. Nobody is able to get this good rate, and in practice it is closer to 1 CHF = 8.8 NOK. It wold be great if "Pro" accounts were able to set the rate for a a group.

It is better to convert all the currencies to users base currency and it will be more helpful when we are dealing with multiple currencies.

Great addition! I really wanted to use this feature but I wanted to set the conversation rate myself. Google's rates are ideal but we would never be able to get that :(
