Offer the choice to receive emails plain text
Your emails are in HTML. This is nice because they look good. However, plain-text emails have their own advantages:
- they are more suitable to assistive technology
- they are easier to manipulate by text-based tools
While most people will prefer HTML-based emails, it would be nice to give the choice.
Hey Damien! I believe that we already send all of our emails as multipart emails – that means they contain both an HTML version and a plain text version of the email, which allows your email program to choose which version it wants to display. I’ll pass on a suggestion about adding a user setting to ONLY receive plain text emails, as well.

Your emails are indeed multipart. But the plain-text part is rather useless. Here is what I received in my monthly balance email:
September is over! Visit Splitwise to see your current debts and IOUs and to settle up with your friends: https://www.splitwise.com
The HTML version contains the details, not the plain-text one. To get the details, I have to visit the website, this seems counter-productive :-).
