"A copy bill" function
E.g. we get cable bill every month. Itemize it because different people want special features etc. Like 10 items typically in the bill. Usually the same but sometimes get PPV. Pain in the butt to re-enter every time. Should be able to copy a bill and use it as a foundation for a new bill.
This is a neat idea! We have “reoccurring bills” but I can see how “duplicate this specific bill once, now” would be a useful functionality to add. We will consider this as we continue to improve Splitwise. Regards
I have a number of bills that I split every month, but that are not always the same amount, so I can't set them up to be recurring. Being able to duplicate the previous month's bill and update with current month's amount (or other details) would be really helpful!

I have a lottery group with some friends and the way we redistribute the (unfortunately scarce) earnings is by creating a new bill where the user who paid for the lottery (and therefore got the prize) owes everyone else. They're a little tricky to think of so I always reference to previous instances so I don't mess up. It would be great if I could copy one of these bills.
The recurring bill function doesn't work for this situation as it doesn't happen regularly (unfortunately again) nor are the values always the same.

I just wanted to say that my service organization, Delta Omicron Lambda, transitioned from using spreadsheets to Splitwise this past semester and it has made keeping track of expenses EXPONENTIALLY easier. I absolutely love Splitwise and the automatic updates when venmo and PayPal transactions are paid are insanely convenient.
However, I'm giving feedback because I wanted to make an accommodating suggestion that may help Splitwise become more appealing to larger organizations such as fraternities and sororities on college campuses and beyond. When adding markups into the system, I would prefer not to give the total amount spent on the order to the entire organization, so the ability to add a single bill of a specific amount with the same description for multiple people would be a tremendous time saver.
For example, if I wanted to mark up 50 members $10 each for an organization shirt, being able to add all the members through the same bill and send a charge of only $10 described as 'Organization Shirt' without showing the total of $500 would be an amazing feature! Currently when we have larger markups I have to add the same bill into the system up to 100+ times and having a feature that allows this all to be done at once would save a great amount of time.

There should be an option to create and expense using an old expense instead of creating from scratch

Everyday I enter the same item, with that same group, then need to change who pays (always the same person) would be great if I could simply press a “favourite” button to repeat this step.

Pleaaaase add a Duplicate option! I agree completely with Jess below. It should be right next to Delete. I play on a team with ~30 people and there are some expenses that are shared with the same subset of players and it is incredibly frustrating to have to create and tag similar expenses time and time again!

TL;DR: Adding a swipe menu like the "delete" one, but that allows to repeat an expense without having to re-enter the infos.
I've seen many people suggest things about repeating bills, but none as simple as this one.
What I need is not something that repeats automatically, but something that would allow me to look at my activity feed and select an expense and simply click on "repeat". It would offer a higher accessibility since it removes the need to enter the amount every time and it could simply be hidden under a left swipe / right swipe menu like the delete option already is.
The use case for this is that we often go, on an non-regular basis, to the movies with my friends. Whoever picks up the bill enters it and it's always the same amount.
Other use case: my partner and I use the app to track our common expenses and we often do the same expense for bread at the local bakery. Having to enter the same amount and name it every time makes it a hassle.
For what I've seen, nobody suggested this that way, but I might be wrong! Don't hesitate to point any duplicates in the comments :P
I would suggest to have a neat checkbox "Add another" besides the "Save" button of a new bill which lets the "Create bill" dialog stay open and resetting the amount and attachments only. So, any properties like "Paid by", "Date", ... will stay the same. This would make entering many bills from a specific day much more simple for the one who paid and gathered all the bills.
It would be nice if you could set up presets, for example if an item is repeatedly purchased a user could set it up and then just be able to choose it whenever that want to use that one.

Please for pete's sake add this. There's nothing worse than having bills that repeat on an irregular schedule or which change slightly each occurrence, and having to enter lengthy itemized bills AGAIN. For bookkeeping purposes I need to have solid lines of delineation when people settle up, so if there's an error in someone shares on a grocery bill we have to re-add the bill as an adjustment expense for the following settle-up period which avoids backpedaling through other records to adjust financial information. Our thanksgiving expenses? A HUNDRED ITEMS. And I can't just copy those. Seriously, why is "duplicate expense" so complicated? And if I have an expense in one group, why isn't it conceivable that I might want to duplicate it in another? What if I'm responsible for PTA refreshments at two different schools? Come on, Splitwise; "copy" has been a feature in every software program ever. To think that complex data objects wouldn't need to be copied or duplicated is PURE FOLLY.

I'd love this feature too. Especially when you're catching up on back bills. I just signed up and am trying to enter six months of internet bills, and I have to go through the same lengthy process each time. It'd be great to be able to do it once, then hit "duplicate" and have a "new bill" dialog box pop up already populated with the info from the old bill.
We definitely need this feature.
The problem I have is, I have a monthly reoccurring expense but every month the amounts would change. It will be difficult to manage the amounts with reoccurring expenses.
So, If I can duplicate / copy / clone an expense that would be an easy solution for me.
