create a separate version for divorcing parents
Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I really do like SplitWise. I know it's great for the target audience of folks like roomates and friends sharing expenses, but I have a suggestion for either an extension of it or a different version. I am unfortunately going through a divorce, and I've learned that expenses for children are split in a manner similar to what you already have. They're generally simpler - only 2 parties, and the percentage is usually set by the parenting agreement.
Anyway, I think there is a market that you could address with very little change. The categories would be very different, and would cover things like clothing, extra-curricular activities, medical expenses, school expenses - there's a whole gamut. But the way you handle the back and forth is wonderful and applies almost directly. Personally, I'm happy to use SplitWise as-is, but I think you could create a re-packaged version and market it directly to divorcees to simplify their tracking of the expenses for their children. Thank you for a great product that is helping make my life just a little bit easier.
Hello and thanks for your feedback and compliments! This is actually already a common use case. Is there something aside from more categories that you think would make it better? We submit category list updates every-so-often and can certainly consider adding some more child-rearing-related ones, but that feels almost like a cosmetic change. Would love to hear from you at support@splitwise.com

This is a very important topic. It seems to me that such procedures should be clearly organized. In general, it upsets me that people often get divorced. This happened in my session and I want to say that it negatively affected my studies at least. I became unsure. But it's great that there are companies like this personal statement residency writing service https://residencypersonalstatements.net/ I turned to them in order to stand out from the crowd of applicants for admission. Of course, the first thing that attracted me was that there was an opportunity to save money on the first order. Very pleased with the information about the discount. But the most important and most enjoyable for me was the impeccable use of medical terminology in my article. And these authors have shown themselves from the best side.

Your suggestion to use SplitWise as a tool to track child-related expenses during a divorce is indeed a brilliant idea. This argumentative essay makes a compelling case for SplitWise to expand its services and cater to divorcing parents in a repackaged version designed specifically for their needs. By creating an extension or separate version, SplitWise can tap into a previously untapped market and simplify tracking child-related expenses for divorced individuals.
For this I use https://samplius.com/essay-types/argumentative-essays/.
The essay highlights the similarities between the existing functionality of SplitWise and the requirements for tracking expenses in a divorce scenario. It argues that, with minimal modifications, SplitWise can address the unique challenges faced by divorced parents, including categorizing expenses such as clothing, extracurricular activities, medical expenses, and school-related costs. By simplifying the process and using SplitWise's effective communication tools, divorcing parents can easily collaborate and ensure fairness in the distribution of financial responsibilities. -

Haven't tried Splitwise yet, but in the process of getting a divorce and now trying to figure how to manage shared expenses that are sometimes an uneven split (based on the order of child support) or sometimes evenly. Heather's comments are correct re categories. Perhaps a way to create our own categories and then set the split so every time the category is entered it automatically inputs the split %.
Does the app trace payments made and outstanding balances? -

You wouldnt need a whole separate version if you just added these categoroies people could just create a sparate group with the other parent to use the added categories. I would like to use the child categories for my current relationship where we split several of my childs expenses and regular house expenses. These are my suggestions for added categories: Childcare (would account for daycare, babysitter, and after school care), Preschool, Tuition, General Education, Toys, Books (this would be good for older kids), Clothing, Activities (to account for classes and sports), Child Support, Child Medical, and Alimony.
