Thanks for the suggestion! I’m not completely sure what you mean by ‘Show all bills in single currency’, but I think you’re looking for a way to automatically convert all expenses to one currency? Unfortunately, there is no straightforward way to convert currencies automatically, and there are a lot of complications with that, so we’ve chosen not to tackle that problem. Sorry about that.

There is a currency converter available on the web, but that is a Splitwise Pro feature. You can get Splitwise Pro by visiting: https://secure.splitwise.com/pro/subscribe

As far as money transfers go, we do support 2 methods: Paypal and Venmo, although these are currently supported in the U.S. only. We’re always looking out to integrate more payment options.

The behavior of "Convert all bills to USD" is fine for when you want to completely settle up all bills (e.g. when a trip is completed). But it is unhelpful for a trip that is in the process of being planned. You might have some immediate expenses (e.g. deposits on rooms), but there will also be future expenses (like paying for the rest of the room when you check-in at your destination).

In that case, the behavior of the button is unhelpful - you haven't actually made the future purchases yet, so it's not correct to use the current exchange rate.

What I really want to see is group balances converted to a single currency, without Splitwise touching the currencies of the individual expenses. This should be automatic. If not all of the expenses have actually been paid yet (I.e. some have a date in the future), there should be a note next to the group balances indicating that they are only estimates (and subject to change as exchange rates fluctuate).
