I can't log in/sign up – I get the error "Invalid API request: invalid client". What do I do?

So sorry for the trouble! Usually this means that there's an issue with your network or internet connection, which is interfering with sending messages to Splitwise's servers. For security reasons, when our servers receive a message that is incomplete or has been tampered with, we return this error message.

To fix the issue, try accessing Splitwise from a different network or a different device. Also, please make sure that the copy of Splitwise that you are using was downloaded directly from the Apple App Store or from Google Play. Copies of the Splitwise app that are downloaded from other sources may have been tampered with, which may cause this security error.
