Override language settings using an in-app language selector
It would be great if the default language which is currently preset by phone settings can be overwritten using an in-app language selector.
Thanks!
Update: this is now possible on iOS 13! Go to the Settings app and find Splitwise in the list near the bottom. You can choose the language for the app separately from your main phone language. You may also need to change the setting in the Splitwise app as well in your Account settings as we keep a separate language setting for notifications that doesn’t always update automatically right now.
Thanks for the suggestion and sorry if you prefer to use Splitwise in English when the rest of your phone is another language. We haven’t seen any other apps that allow you to do this, and it would be fairly difficult for us to build, so this is not something we’re going to be able to do in the near term. That said I’m leaving this “under review” in case a lot of other users would like us to build it.
If you’re annoyed about a particular aspect of the translation, please let us know at translators@splitwise.com. Thanks for your patience!
Best,
Jon

Currently, users can apply language settings only from the system-wide setting on the best Android phones. There are only a few apps that offer their https://www.assignmenthelper.com.au/essay-writer-australia/ australian essay writers and own language settings. Once the "Panlingual" feature launches, users will no longer have to go to every app's settings menu to change the language.Currently, users can apply language settings only from the system-wide setting on the best Android phones.

It would be great to see language selector, because for some reason Splitwise on my phone is in Spanish which I don't understand well. If the language selector was available I could change language to English or even Polish (I'm not sure if it's available)

For some reason, half of my Splitwise is in English, whilst other parts are in French? this seems to be the case for a lot of friends who have the app and I don't understand why. When I get emails from splitwise as reminders they are also in French. I do happen to understand French well enough that this isn't a problem but I don't understand how or why this is the case.

My phone is set to German but I’d prefer to use Splitwise in English as I use it for travelling with international friends and we’re often sending screen shots to each other to keep track of things! Shame it’s not an easier one to fix!

You should have a language selector

It seems that if one user in a group has splitwise in one language that when they add charges and things it changes the language in another persons phone, even if they have their whole phone set to englihs. Which obviously creates a problem for people who dont speak that language. would be nice if the app just was consistent 100% with the language that the phone is set in.

I installed splitwise ages ago, when my phone was in French (because I was on holiday in France). My phone is now in English, but there is no way of changing the language in the app, even if I delete it and reinstall. This also means that everyone I invite to a splitwise group sees it in French, which is very inconvenient because they don't speak French. This should be easy to change splitwise - DO IT!

I was invited to a Splitwise in Spanish but don't understand Spanish well enough for using it. Now I don't find any option how to change the language. Please make it easy to change the language, at least in the web interface.

Hi, I would like to override the language as well. The reason why one would have two different languages as the main phone's one and the app's one is that you can have your phone in your own language but then may want to share screenshots of your app with the people you share expenses with, and these can be from other places in the world. Thanks

My son has Splitwise setup in French and invited me to be in a group. I am not fluent in French, but can't figure out how to change my display to English.

Hi Jon, thank you for your quick reply. Maybe I'd prefer Splitwise in English because I was just used to it ;) So, I'm alright with your arguing, could have been an easy one ...
Thank you!
