Allow an end date for recurring payments, or build an incremental recurring payment option
This would allow me to pay someone back in increments until the whole amount is paid back. For example, my fiance paid for flights for our upcoming vacation. I want to pay him back $700 over the next 6 months, so I'd like to set up a recurring monthly payment of $117 that ends after 6 payments. Alternatively, you could add another option for divided bills that automatically calculates and schedules gradual payments.
Thanks for your feedback! I see how this would be a good improvement. Are you aware that you can set a payment to reoccur already, although we don’t have as fine tuning as you’d like? If you need any help setting our (basic) reoccuring feature up please email support@splitwise.com. Thanks, Zoe

This is something that is even more relevant now with BNPL schemes such as Afterpay, Paypal pay in 4 etc etc. I use recurring payments all the time, but without the ability to set an end date it is always a pain getting a reminder something is due when it's not. I then have to go in, delete the recurring part and then delete the transaction. Setting an end date should be a no brainer and drastically improve the app.

I would like to be able to choose to indicate that I want a recurring payment for x number of periods (months or years).
Would you be able to implement such an option?Thank you

It would be awesome if the recurring expenses had an end date

In my case, I lent my credit card for an parceled purchase, so I would like to put this condition in splitwise. it would help even in organization, 'cause I could know how much installments lasts.

It would be handy to be able to apply an end date for recurring expenses rather than having to remember to stop them or delete them when they’ve been automatically updated after they should have ended. Thank you!

I've found out that the app does not support a paymaynt splitted in multiple months (ex 3, 6, 12 months). I would be great to sopport that. Alternatively I've manually splitted the total over the months and added as a repeated month expense but there's no option to automatically stop after a pre defined number of months.
Any of both approaches would be great and solves todays usability issue.
Thanks!

I need this option!!! Many times I am paying back something that has no interest for 6 months or a year. Or I am paying back someone in agreed-upon monthly payments. However, I need the payments to stop at a certain point. With the current set up, I am required to know when that certain stopping point is OR I have to manually enter all of the monthly payments myself. However, if I do that, it shows I all the money NOW and I don't.

At present we have recurring option indefinitely. it would be better if we have and end date for recurring expense.

Please allow to select no of periods/cycles when adding recurring expenses. This will allow splitting bills only for certain period.

Useful for a fixed asset repayment. After setting he frequency (monthly weekly etc.) have an option for how many payments or end date. Possibly have it calculate the total cost by different end dates and frequency so helps us get the correct date.

So Splitwise has the ability put in recurring payments at regular payment dates but there is no way to put in an end date for the recurring payments. Can you please put this feature?
The only other option is to delete the expense which I assume will delete all the recurred entries for that particular expense?
Thanks,

When I'm creating a recurring payment (like rent is weekly), i want the description to increment as well. for example I want my descriptions to look like this
-Rent week 1
-Rent week 2
-Rent week 3So that if there's ever an issue, i know exactly which payment i had the issue on, instead of the generic "Rent" description, and having to manually update it every week.
On my bank's portal, there is a recurring payments option. I can add in a description, that has a checkbox next to it asking "add recurring number?" when you check this, a textbox appears next to it with the prompt "Enter starting number", and a box next to it with "recur number by x for every payment".
So if i enter 1 in the 1st box, and enter 1 in the 2nd box, my descriptions will look like the example above (rent week 1, ... 2, etc).If i enter 5, and 3, then they will look like
- Rent week 5
- Rent week 8
- Rent week 11 etcFeel free to ask any questions, it'd be a cool feature to have!

When entering a recurring bill, have the option to enter how many times it repeats (for example, fortnightly for four fortnights), or enter a total amount and it repeats until that total has been paid.

Add End Date for recurring payments or number of repetitions since it's crucial for registering payments in installments (very usual outside the US)

It would be be great if I could set manually how many times a given expense would repeat. Eg: by setting a recurrent expense, I'd love to be able to define how much many months this expense would repeat.

Love the option to set a monthly recurring expense, but would like to set expenses repeating every x months, e.g. every 2 months or every 3 months...

To amend to this, it'd be great if you could have recurring until an amount is reached (my old bank account used to do this, and it was great). For, say I wanted to pay back someone $100/month until I paid back $650. It would do six payments of $100 and then the last one $50.

As a user I would like to be able to set recurring bills until a specific date
so that those bills do not repeat beyond their actual validity
so that I don't have to manually delete that bill
e.g. Water Bill > Repeat Weekly > Until 12th March 2017
