Allow Generalized/Anonymous Reminders
It would be more tactful in some situations if Splitwise could send general reminders to those who haven't settled up after a few days have gone by. Or at least permit users to request the app to send a reminder of an outstanding balance without identifying the person who requested the reminder. For example:
"Hey username, don't forget to settle up your balances! You currently owe $###"
Thanks for the suggestion! We do have a monthly summary that goes over balances with everyone and acts as an automated reminder. We also have pre-written reminders you can send to specific people if you want to ask them to settle up.
We don’t plan to add anonymous reminders. It’s a feature that would be very difficult to build in a way that would not be open to a lot of abuse. What we might add at some point is a more general whole group reminder where you can send a reminder to the entire group that there are balances that need to be settled up. Hopefully this will help make it easier to talk about settling up in a way that feels comfortable for everyone.

It would be nice if when we send a reminder we could choose if we want the other person to receive it as it is now (“Name has sent you a reminder, you owe him...”) or instead making it look like it came from Splitwise directly (kind of the same style as the monthly summary). So to make it less awkward asking for money back to people you’re not really confident with

I would love if this type of template is used in sending reminders.
Hey <name>
We just wanted to note that you currently owe <name> <amount>. Kindly settle up the next time you see each other.
Thanks!
Splitwise Inc.There is a option by which you can manually chnge the reminder, but for that also make the email/sms template different because when you manually edit the reminder,it still says as-
<user name> wrote the following note:
<reminder note>so it kinda reveals that instead the app, it's the user who actually has written that reminder so it spoils the game.?
So the whole idea is to make the reminders looking as if generated from App's side not from user side.

Cant you set a limit to the reminder to prevent abuse? E.g can only send once per week

I totally agree with *****************.
Please make it look like the app is reminding the person, when the person clicks on Send reminder, like a general reminder (similarly to the monthly reminder), rather than the person sending a personal note asking money. -

currently when you send a reminder it appears as a personal note from whoever is owed money. it would be less awkward if you cld just trigger the app to send a notification reminder to the debtor that they still owe creditor money.
