Require users to approve expenses they are involved with

When one person in a group adds an expense, the other members of that group should have to manually approve the expense before it is added to their balance.

We’ve considered this feature before and decided against adding it. For many users, this might be a hassle: we would clog their email inbox with unnecessary messages asking for confirmation. We also think this would make balances more confusing, as it might be difficult to figure out which bills are “confirmed” and count towards the balance and which bills are still “unconfirmed”.

    one person shld be head who will verify the bills uploaded n approve it. n also he shld be askd before deleting any bill.This will add on to security of app

    We are facing problems during clearing old balances of some parties. so, by following above suggestions we can just clear old balances without second thoughts as we double verified the transaction.

    Currently anyone can settle up or can edit an existing entry without knowing by other group members. With this option any group member can cheat others by editing an existing entry. To avoid this if any group member changes the the entry then other group members has to accept his changes, then only the entry should be updated in the database. Same thing should be applicable for settle up also

    If a person is not present for some days and someone adds an expense in a group of flatmates it gets divided into all so I suggest you to add a feature for approval of expenses. The expense will get divided into persons who have approved it only.

    Que solo pueda administrar los pagos una persona. Si no se pueden hacer transferencias en línea, no deberían hacer cambios.

    I agree with the OP.

    My roommates are notoriously bad at paying me for household expenses that I upload to Splitwise. They will go weeks (even a month once) without paying me for something as simple as bulk toilet paper. Then, in the middle of all of this, one of my roommates will upload a measly $3 expense to Splitwise for hand soap that then comes out of the balance they currently have with me. This app shouldn't be a way to just shift money around. I should be able to go in and hold off on the example soap expense until my roommate pays me her portion for the TP. Sort of a ransom scenario.

    Regarding a change-- its better you add an Review option so that we can approve a bill added immediatly.

    When a bill is added that should be approved by the all people who are involved in bill sharing, only then it should be reflected in dashboard.
