Allow archiving of groups
I have 13 groups/trips set up now. We create one for a specific trip and once its settled, rather than delete it, would be good to have a archive section where it can be stored perpetually rather than having to delete. The reason I want to delete is because this list will grow over time and then there are way too many of them.
We’ve just added a feature in our new, redesigned web interface that hides groups which have been inactive for more than 30 days. This way your list of groups is less cluttered, but your full history is still only a click away.

Hiding the groups is not same as archiving the group. There is a big difference.
Archiving the group should make the group as inactive as to no expenses can be added/deleted to it. It should not appear on the home page. This way information from past expenses and settlements would be preserved forever. Hiding a group still keeps that group active and expenses can be added/modified into that. Archiving would prevent that.
This is a very necessary feature and I request you to please prioritize this.

I have a bunch of old groups! they clog up the UI and show up first when I try to add an expense. why do I see them? either sort them to the bottom or let me hide them.

1.Suppose we have large num of groups (say 100) created for each event in a long period. And many of the groups are unsettled. Then we have to scroll a lot to check each such unsettled group.
There can be a sort option like Sort by "owe" ASC or DSC etc.
2. There are many groups which are settled but I dont want to delete it as it contains imp transactions. So, there can be a feature "Archive group" so that we can save those settled groups. -

Hello guys, first of all thank you for this amazing tool, you are doing an amazing work. I would like to ask you if it could be possible to add a functionality to the system where you could archive groups that have been created but don't need to be used anymore. This would help focusing on the groups still in use and only check old groups if needed (to validate old expenses, etc.).

Additional option to archive or hide groups in addition to automatic hiding after 30 days. this option should be available for settled as well as unsettled accounts.

Hi, the group list gets bigger also in the selection of group when adding an expense. Please implement archiving groups from that list too. Thanks. Splitwise is awesome.

It would be nice if the user could also have the option to archive a group (by choice, not based on inactivity). With the current feature set, if a trip ends and everyone settles, the group will still appear unnecessarily for 30 more days.
