Add tax information as well
there should be a provision to add tax paid as well, also a provision to split tax based on the number of items.
Tax can be added and split when adding an itemized bill. Itemized bills are currently web-only, but we hope to bring them to our mobile apps in the not-too-distant future.

Alice, Bob, Carl are 3 friends. They plan a family trip. They create a SplitWise group with these 3 friends being the heads of each of their families. Alice has a husband and 2 kids. Bob is newly married. Carl is still single. Total number of trip-goers is 7. If total trip cost was $100 - splitting equally among 3 friends won't be fair. Alice's pax count is 4. Bob's pax count is 2. Carl's pax count is 1.
Need a way to assign pax count on each group member, without the need to invite each of the spouses and kids into the group with their SplitWise membership accounts.

When you pay at a restaurant or for a movie ticket the taxes are left out. If there is an option to add taxes with each transaction it would be great.

Different products have different rates at which tax is charged. So it would be nice if in an itemized bill, we can denote the tax rate with a letter like A, B..etc beside the item and in the end input values of each tax rate, so that even the tax amount is split fairly. Currently only one tax rate is supported.

You can cheat the system by entering the post-tax, post-tip total as the Splitwise total and splitting based on shares where each share is the friend subtotal (at either pre-tax or post-tax). It takes a bit of math on the user end, but as long as Splitwise continues to accept decimal shares it works well.
Why would one want to split tax based on number of items anyway?
