make it easier to merge accounts
It took me a long time to get two accounts merged. I was invited to a vacation group through my school email addres, but don't use that address with splitwise. When I tried to log into splitwise and merge these accounts on a new computer (while traveling abroad), it was impossible. I then had the group organizer add my existing Splitwise account. This created two versions of me in that group! The merge link also broke, until I was able to manually go in and remove one version of me (after zeroing out his debts) and then merge.
We have implemented a user-facing merge accounts feature:
To access, head to your account settings page on the web: https://secure.splitwise.com/account/settings
Scroll down to the ‘advanced features’ section.
You will need to know the password for all accounts you want to merge. If you’ve forgotten one or more of your password you may use the password reset feature.

Okay that comment by Splitwise admin was posted almost two and a half years ago and still I have the same issues with it. Any real updates???

Splitwise, have you found the solution now?? Its been an year now. And i am still wondering how to merge 2 contacts (Both same person).
I love the app but just rectify this as i am not able to give update of the expenses on my friend's phone.

Same goes over here! Have had this problem with at least 75% of the people that I've gotten to convert to splitwise users, and they were less than impressed!!
to add to that it'll be awesome if we could merge groups with the people in them.
