Managing recurring expenses
Our monthly electricity bill went up by a couple of euros, so I needed to change the recurring expense that I had setup for this. Although this is possible the process is a bit confusing. I'd suggest providing an overview of scheduled recurring expenses, separate from the list of expenses that have already been created as a result from these schedules, which is what I was looking for because I didn't really want to touch any previous expenses.
We agree that managing recurring bills could be better. Currently, the way to edit recurring bills is to change the most recent copy and that will change ones that follow. It will not affect the past expenses.
We’re considering how to improve this, and will leave this under review for now.

I'm not familiar with mint.com, but I thought your message was interesting, so I came here. I needed help with my project and found https://www.bestassignmentwriters.co.uk on english literature agency to help me.

I have been looking at a couple of your accounts and I can state very great stuff.

Yes, I'm here because of the recent Netflix price increase. I don't want to mess up my already-paid January bill, but there's no February option yet, since I have it set to recur on the 15th of the month.
Edit: Coming up on the 9th anniversary of this request!

As an example, in a recurring weekly expense of $10 split between 3 people, one person will pay $3.34 a week and two people will pay $3.33 a week. After 100 weeks, since the amounts are assigned once and repeated every week, one person will owe $334 and two people will owe $333. A $1 difference is relatively small, but it's still an artifact of Splitwise internal (mis)calculations.
If rounding is done independently for each instance of the recurring expense, each individual would owe a much more similar amount.

When a recurring expense is created and the total amount cannot be divided exactly as requested, Splitwise randomly rounds the amount to be paid by each individual. This random rounding stays the same in every instance of the recurring expense, so the amounts owed by each individual slowly diverge over time even if it was split equally.
I suggest that every instance of recurring payments have their own rounding, to make it more fair.

1. Make it so that recurring payments appears as soon as it’s the date of the payment. As of now, it seems to be added the same time of day as the original payment was created.
2. As of now, the only way to be able to see coming recurring payments, you have to click that payment from the month before and read the details to confirm that it is a recurring payment.
3. Maybe add a section on the groups “home page” (at the top of the page) with each recurring payment so that groups (families/couples) have an easy overview of what bills they pay each month.
Hi, I use splitwise first and foremost to share the cost of services like
- apple iCloud, Music, Arcade ...
- amazon prime
would be nice if we could choose such services from a list which reflects the current costs in my contry. This should auto update. Netflix just rised their costs in germany, now I have to fix the recurring costs manuelly.

It’s honestly beyond comprehension why it’s so difficult to view & manage future expenses in this app
Acasa is better
You can have a dropdown with a few choices:
- All future bills
- All past bills
- All past and future bills
- Single bill: select date, default to most recent
- Range of dates: select two dates
Wish I’d never set up a recurring payment. Can’t edit it at all!

Datewise Quantity, Price entry, which will repeat itself but customizable for any changes in daily routine.
This will become the third party to whom the payment will be due by group members / division as required

the way how splitwise handles the editing of (future) recurring tasks is completely unlogical. you don't need to add them to the balance to be settled when they did not occur yet (surely if you postpone the time forward). it is sad, as a paying splitwise customer, to see that this is already a 6+ year old issue I can read below. do you actually listen to your customers ?
recurring bills don't always come in at the same time, surely not the yearly recurring ones. if I then need to postpone the date, they pop up in the bills to be settled with an amount which actually might not even be the amount which will need to be paid for that year. now (as paying customer) I need to keep a separate extra administration next to splitwise (which I pay to handle this task normally) for such occasions and then I need to put extra work into creating fix payments when the actual bill comes in. it is unnecessary extra work for your customers for a feature which is technically really not hard to implement. make either all tasks with a date in the future disappear from the balance of the current date or make a checkbox so people who do want to add future payments to the current balance (which makes no sense to me to begin with) can still get the current behavior. it can even work with the described way of editing the most recent copy of that payment. how can something so trivial take so much time ?
can we get an ETA on this please ?
That's true @vikas, I don't see expense to Edit or delete recurring expense that we have friends paying back to us. Not sure who act's on these feedbacks?
this feature is pending for 6+ YEARS ago, looks time to jump to other competitive application!

Also "changing the most recent copy" does IN FACT affect the past expenses if the most recent copy is a past expense.
In my example, I received the bill today, but it's not scheduled to add to splitwise for another day or so. So my only option is to wait for it to add to splitwise, because for me, the most recent copy is an expense that already occurred.
Has there still not been any added function to the recurring feature? this question was originally posted 6+ YEARS ago.

Guys this is the worst part of Splitwise... it’s crazy I cant manage this. I shouldn’t have to dispute with my group whether or not something has been charged, and I should be able to review everything that is recurring to add or delete.
It seems ridiculous that you can't edit an upcoming transaction (from a repeating monthly bill, for example) until the date it is scheduled. We should be able to edit the date, amount and notes as we receive billing statements or information from utilities, etc.
