Hide transactions from people not involved
There should be an option in the groups' settings to always hide transactions from people that are not present, and prevent those people from seeing the transaction (or just hide the value).
This would be helpful in a group of friends where you don't want to disclose, eg, the birthday present's value to whoever's birthday it is.

We believe anyone in a group should be able to see any expense in that group so they can audit our calculations. If you want to keep an expense private, add it outside the group. Expenses outside the group are only visible to the people involved in the expense.

I hope there will be an option to make the individual debt and payments confidential to members of the group. It should only be available to the one who lent the money and the individuals who borrowed. It lessens the pressure of payments between members of the group.

There are scenarios in which not everyone in the group should have the permission to see the calculations in which they are not involved. I.e, having a Xmas presents group.
If:
- A, B, C and D are in the group.
- A, B, C buy a present to D.
- B, C, D buy a present to A.
- A, C, D buy a present to B.B and C might come to need splitwise to balance out what they spent on the presents bought to A and D, but B should not see the expense of A, C and D for the present he/she got.

We have come to the same suggestion and we think it has sense for such birthday/Christmas presents groups where you want to use the "Simplify debts" option. You cannot use it by doing transactions outside the group.
A solution to keep the transparency would be that all the group members have to agree in order to activate the option.Kimi Guti
