Please introduce a way to view total spend - individually, within the group and in total. Currently the app does not help track expenses.

A basic version of this feature (“View group totals”) is now on all platforms: iPhone, Android, and web! You can also analyze more details group totals by exporting your group expenses to a spreadsheet, which is also available on all platforms.

We’d definitely like to add this to mobile in the future. As of v4.0, our iPhone app can show you basic totals for a group as well as export a spreadsheet – just tap on a group, then tap the “More” button in the header.

You can also export a spreadsheet for any group from our website or mobile apps. On our website, click the settings icon in the upper-right of the group screen. In our mobile apps, go to the group screen and look in the “more” menu for an option to download a spreadsheet.

There’s also a basic version of this on our website: check out the “trends” tab for groups and friendships, or the “view printable summary” link in groups for each month’s expenses (or for the full history of a group’s expenses). You can also export a spreadsheet from our website by clicking the settings icon in the upper-right of the friend or group screen.

So viewing the total of expenses, and my share of the expenses, for a given month is great for ongoing stuff. However, i typically use Splitwise to divide costs within a group for trips. I create a new group for every trip (the people are always different). Often the costs are spread over multiple months (flights one month, hotel another month, then the trip and follow on expenses that forgot to get added live). It would be awesome to see total statistics by the group that is not time based. The biggest question I want answered usually is: After is all said and done, how much did i spend on this trip?!

Love the app and website, you guys are awesome!

Please add this feature! It's very interesting for personal expenses to know the cost of a trip for instance.

Would love to see this feature implemented. I use SplitWise to track spending on holiday trips, and would like to know how much the trip is costing in total each time i add an expense to it. It would help with trying to keep to a certain budget on travels, or is just nice to know how quickly you are burning through funds for a specified trip!

I want to see in the app what the total cost was of a trip, all expenses added up. How do I do that? It should simply display at the top of the group view.

Please add this feature. It will give an overall picture of the trip budget, currently it is very subjective and specific to splitting the expenses.

Include a way to know how much a trip cost you (all expenses divided in each member - the ones that apply to each member) this would be great for managing personal finances.

It would be nice to have the total amount of expenses in "All Expenses" section and also some way to get the total expenses per person for each group so at the end we know how much we gave away.
