build a feature that lets someone add an expense now but select a later date (or multiple dates) for it to "hit"

I'd love a feature that allows me to add an expense immediately but choose a later date or dates at which it will be added to expense calculations. Some possible choices:
-simple "save until next month" option
-select the specific date that it will be included in group calculations
-spread the cost across the next 3, 6, or 12 months
-hold for low expense month: Splitwise knows average monthly cost and automatically drops expense into month with below-average expenses

Thanks for the detailed suggestion! I can definitely see how this’d be useful, though we’d want to be careful and make sure the extra options don’t cause undue confusion. I’ll add this to our list of possible improvements to discuss :)

Hi,
Sometimes I pay for something in advance (usually when I make a reservation for a sports arena or accommodation for a future trip etc.). However, the number of people with which this expense needs to be shared will only become clear at a later point of time. So, I would like to make an entry mentioning i paid a certain amount with a reminder that can alert me after a certain number of days to share that expense with my friends. Currently, I am having to keep this in mind, and sometimes I miss adding an expense because of that.

Yeah. Most of the time when I delay uploading any bill I ends up loosing my bills which create lots of headache. with this feature at least I won't have worry about loosing my bills.

thanks for your reply. It surely a good one....because most of the time when I delay updating my transaction on Splitwise I ends up loosing bill. This causes lots of headache. Saving bill without making it live will surely going to help many.

I don't like to upload grocery etc. bill soon after the shopping because
people judge you (they think that you always think about money and feared that
someone won't pay you back). That's why if you could provide me provision so
that :
1. we could create and save the bill within the group without making it live.
2. making it live later on either manually or automatically.
