Add location to expense
It would be better if we add location of where the expense is made and filter the expense then it would be more easier..
Hey Krishna – thanks for the suggestion! We’ve thought a bit about location data before, and it’s something that might show up in a future version of the app. Until then, apologies for any inconvenience!

Sad that such a simple feature isn't implemented yet.
There can be several improvements such as auto detection, reports based on geotagging, but the basic feature involves only a text field invoking Google Maps API for suggestions, maybe with an user-defined label for that place.
Showing this field on the expense list would be amazing and would allow users to shorten their description.

My suggestion is add a field do add the place of cost and show it in a map, like the Foursquare checkins.

Every expenditure happens in a specific location (restaurant, hotel, scuba diving center, supermarket).
We were a large group traveling together (14 people) and eventually it was hard to relate the expense to the actual place (descriptions were too short “dinner tonite” etc).
Would be great to be able to see the location where the expenditure happened as a pin on Google Maps. Thanks!

Add location on your expense. Automatic or manual

Would really help to identify transactions easily and enable faster entry (won't have to type in lots of details). Bonus if this worked with foursquare!

Hi,
It just crossed my mind that a lot of people update Splitwise with the expenses, as and when they incur those expenses. Let's say I am on a road trip and I pay the toll. I would enter the expense right away at the toll collection centre.
Therefore, it would be useful to incorporate a location/map feature so that I can enter the expense as well as the location/place where I spent it. This would give more visibility into where the expenses were made, when I look back at it later. This also party takes away the requirement of entering accurate description of expenses.
Best,

I think geotagging expenses would be an extremely valuable addition. Thanks for the great app!
