Automatically recalculate share, when new people getting added to the group.
Sometimes many expenses are added before everyone joins the group. The shares should auto recalculate if others join. For instance if I have a group of 5 people, and have a bill divided among all the group. Each person is charged $2. But later, we add in the remaining 5 people to the group, each person should automatically get recalculated to $1. Currently I have to manually add people in to the group expenses.
Thanks for the suggestion! I can see how this would be useful, though we’d also want to make sure that we don’t accidentally add people to bills that they SHOULDN’T be involved in. (For example, a lot of people use Splitwise to keep track of apartments, group trips, etc where people may come and go at different points in time.) For now, apologies for the inconvenience!

Furthermore. If you selected "split equally" from the start, you cant add more people to that expense (after new people join the party) and need to delete and re-enter after everyone is on board.

This is a must add feature. I have been a member for almost a decade and the platform has made very little progress. This issue has been open for 5 years. Anyone have another app they recommend to solve this issue

Strongly agree. This would be very useful. Very often, we know we are going on a trip but uncertain who else will be coming. We add the expense to be shared by everyone attending. Have to go back and edit the expense each time we add another attendee. Very inconvenient. e.g. when something is split equally among the group, we want it recalculated as the group size/attendees change.

I would find this option very interesting.
We try to use SplitWise to split the expenses for trips.
The problem is that people join at different times. Some one join the splitwise group and add his expenses which are only shared with the people that is already in the group, but not with the people that join group later. Since expenses are not recalculated, they all think that the tool is not working. I have to ask them to delete the expenses and re-enter them. so they are not very happy about using the tool.

I agree that this would be useful. The fact that this does not happen is a deterrent to using Splitwise when not everyone in the group is already on it, which is often.
