allow part of a split to be paid at the time it is entered
Allow users to designate that one of the splitters has already paid so as to better keep track of who has paid what to whome.
1 voteUpdate: when adding an expense, you can now click on the payer token and choose multiple payers, then add all people who have paid for the expense.
I’ll pass on the feedback! For now, you could try adding a note or comment to the bill with details on who has paid, or immediately adding a payment after you finish adding the bill.

Dashboard giving graph
Using ElasticSearch we can add real time management for a user.
Suppose, some transactions happened for one week. But the person really doesn't cannot analyse for the previous week. <Make it as an add-on>2 votesUpdate: this is now available on the web for Pro users under Charts in the account menu in the upper right corner.
We’ve actually been playing with a balance-over-time graph as a Pro feature – we agree that it’s a nice addition :) We hope to make that available soon!

to add feature to on behalf settle up
Would suggest to add support for below scenario -
A need to pay $10 to X and $5 to Y
Y need to Pay $10 to XA did the payment of $15 to X and Y did teh payment of $5
1 voteThis is what we call “Simplify Debts.”
If A, X, and Y are in a group:
Turn on Simplify Debts in that group by going to the group settings (website: click on group, click on gear in upper right, click on “edit group settings”, advanced settings, toggle Simplify debts on).If A, X, and Y are not in a group:
You can access it on the website by clicking your name in the upper right, then “your account,” and then under advanced Features going to “Simplify Debts.” On the Simplify Debts page, check all parties you want to simplify between.Cheers,

Notifications
Initially, the splitwise had a notification flag at the top center of the window and used to get highlighted with orange color when any of my friends added a bill. It was easier to find out who added which bill in which group. It would be great if I can get to see that.
1 voteHey Samanth! We moved the notifications list to the dashboard – you can still view it at any time by clicking “Dashboard” in the left-hand column and then looking at the top of the right-hand column. Hope that helps!

Better Group Creation
Me and my friends are organizing a trip via a facebook group. None of them have splitwise accounts, nor do I know all of their emails. It would be great if I could create a group, and just post a link to it asking them to join it by clicking the link.
1 voteWhen you create a group, there should now be a link displayed in the group settings you can send to your friends to let them add themselves to the group.

Payment to person NOT currently owed money
With the app, unlike the website, one cannot currently record a payment to someone where that person is not currently owed money. As I like to pay individuals in advance, hoping this is a quirk easily fixed. Thanks!
3 votesUpdate: this is now possible on all platforms. For groups, you just click on settle up and scroll down for more options. To do a custom settle up between friends, you need to go to the non-group expenses entry in the group list and settle up from there.
Thanks for the feedback! We can probably make this possible at some point, though I’m not sure when it’ll get added to the schedule.

No suggestion, just praise.
Thank you. This software is awesome. I recently moved in with my girlfriend and we've been struggling to keep track of accounts with a google doc, but this is 100x better. Keep up the good work.

You can now add comments to expenses, which will show up in the recent activity feed, so you can comment on an expense and then delete it an your friends will have a record of what happened.

Add the ability to hide transactions I'm not involved in
When looking at a group on Splitwise I'd like to be able to hide transactions that I'm not a part of. When part of a large group there are quite a few transactions that just clutter the feed.
4 votesHey Matt – if you open your group and click on the gear/settings icon at the top of the right-hand sidebar, you should see an option to “hide items not involving me”. That feature can be a little finicky (if you load more expenses, it sometimes resets), but we’re hoping to improve it more in the future.

change focus to the "with who" field when the user clicks "add a bill"
It would be much quicker easier if I could just click "add a bill" then start typing the persons name and tab through the form, rather than have to then click the field first.
1 voteThanks for the suggestion! I thought we’d done this already, but apparently we forgot to actually release the feature :) The “with you and:” field should now automatically focus when adding a bill from the dashboard or the “All expenses” screen. When you add from the page of a specific friend or group, the description field will automatically focus instead (since the “with” field already contains the current friend/group, and for most bills those are the only people who are added). Hope that helps!

Make "simplify debts" more prominent
I love the "simplify debts" feature and "view full details". After several group vacations with friends the "full details" and "simplify debts" is what we use the most, however it's difficult many of my friends who are new to the site to find it. This is especially the case when the group has 8+ members and the "view full details" is at the bottom right side of the page.
I think the link location should be swapped with "view printable summary" to make it a bit more prominent. I would imagine users want to "view full details" a lot more…
3 votesWe now show a notice in the main web app on the right side.

create options for paid support version
I love Splitwise and would hate to see it languish or go under for lack of revenue. I'd be prepared to pay $15-20 per year for the base service as it is now.
1 voteThere is now a Pro version you can sign up for in you account settings on web along with a couple of bonus web features for Pro users.

Make it more clear how to retry a pending transaction
I started to pay someone, but when I got to paypal I realized it would be easier to wait until someone paid me and I had a paypal balance to use. I cancelled, but expected the expense to still show up on the front page. I found it as "pending" under "all expenses", but it took quite a while to figure out that in order to try sending money again I was supposed to click the "update" button
1 voteIncomplete PayPal payments now have a button in the details to complete it on PayPal.

Discussion board for groups
Can we have a discussion area for groups where we can have conversations?
1 voteWe added comments to expenses to talk about individual expenses. Let us know if you find you need more messaging features.

Reduce the number of keystrokes it takes to choose a friend (or friends) to share expenses with.
I find the number of keystrokes to get to a friend disconcerting. First I have to partially type their name, then choose which person I want. I'd like to be able to see their name on the main page and just click them to start with
1 voteIf you start from your friendship or group page, they will automatically be in the expense when you add one.

Previous features were better than current
Previous features were better than current.
Current changes doesn't show up the the total payment to be made to specific person, rather than settling amount with individual. Old UI had this feature.
For example in a group, if John owes $20 to kate and kathy owes $20 to John. Then splitwise should make this calculation and show up as Kathy owes Kate $20, rather kathy paying to John and John paying to Kate. This feature was cool, but now it doesn't seem to be visible.3 votesThis feature is still available – it’s called “simplified debt”. Just visit your group page and click the “view full details” link at the bottom of the right sidebar, below the list of balances. That will open a pop-up with the option to turn simplified debt on or off. (It sounds like someone in your group may have turned it off by accident.) Hope that helps!

Suggestions on the Layout of Expenses page
Whenever i multiple bills for the same date, it'll be more intuitive if you show the bills in the order of - the most recent one at the top.
As of now, all the bills for the same date get added one after the other with the latest bill going to the bottom.
1 voteThis should be how it works everywhere.

Add Bill: Reinstate the ability to select members of a group via checkbox
The most common bills that I have are split with a subset of the members of my house. Instead of remembering who exactly I want to split a bill with, I need to be able to go down the list and check the people that apply. The old interface did this well, the new one does not. Since you've now removed the ability to get back to the old interface, there is no way of doing this except for manually typing out partial names for everyone I want to add. (~4-5 people every time)
Additionally, reinstate the ability to use…
1 voteAll these things are already in the new form, actually :) If you click on the “split equally” link in the new interface, the window that slides out should let you check and uncheck members on an equal expense, as well as choose any of the other unequal split methods that we supported on the old form.
If you’re still having trouble, email us at support@splitwise.com and let us know – we’d be more than happy to help.

Auto-settle group account entries when I settle accounts with a particular friend
When I have a single friend in more than one group and I settle accounts with them, the settlement does not nullify the dues in the group windows. I LOVE SPLITWISE, but I'd die for it if you made this change :)
1 voteThis is now available on web and iPhone.
