Total money spent VS. Individual share of money (in a month)
Hi Team,
After activating the splitwise pro feature, i can see the graph feature in my account for expenses over a period of time.
But what i think will be much more useful is my share of those expenses throughout the timeline.
For example, on 10th of a month i spent 10k split between 4 people as rent.
Then in the graph it should show my expenditure on that date as 2.5k which is 1/4th of 10k .
This is how i will know on which day how much is my expenditure exactly, and not how much i lent.
In short, it would be better quality graph data if we can get expense minus money lent to others(X-axis) and per day (Y-axis), instead of expense including money lent to others(X-axis) and per day on (Y-axis).
Thanks,
Udit
Fair enough! Thanks for the feedback, that makes sense. To be clear, the X/Y axis is a balance, not total spending, but you are correct about the pie chart.
Currently, you CAN see your share of things month by month via the “charts” tab on the upper right of the website, and then view full details to see only you share. But I’m leaving this under review to see if any other Pro users feel the same way.
Best,
Jon

Hello Support,
actually I cannot find the feature you are talking about. I would like to see how much money I spent in a particular category in a certain month, no matter who payed and how much I owe someone.
For example if a friend pays 10€ for 5 persons for food, I owe him 2€ for this. If I now pay 20€ for two persons for food as well, I would like to see "12€ for food" somewhere in the charts.
Either do this in a pie chart of all my shares, or in a line graph over a certain period of time, accumulated monthly.Best regards,

Thanks for the prompt response!
Yes, i could see in the charts tab the X axis shows your balance with Y axis showing the day.
But this does not let me understand my overall expenditure of a month (excluding the money lent which i will eventually recover at the end of month).
This can be done if X-axis has only my share of any expenditure recorded in splitwise.
So if some else pays 2k with the 2 of us sharing, it should be a 1k for me on X-axis on that date. This is the only way to calculate my expenditure, the lent/debt balance does not really show my own expenditure, because eventually the lent money is recovered at end of month anyways.
So all i am interested in my expenditure over a period of time and not how much money i have lent or how much money i owe.Regards,
Udit
