Offline mode for mobile

Quite disappointed when I found out your app does not work offline.

NOTE: if you are upset that iPhone or Android offline mode does not work in the way that you want, please vote for or add a new idea about your specific issue. It’s much easier for us to figure out what work is important to do next if we have votes for specific problems.

Our iPhone and Android apps now both include offline mode. Offline allows you to add and remove expenses with existing friends and groups, even when you don’t have an internet connection. Any changes you make will be synced later, when you have an internet connection again.

    Whenever you're traveling abroad, you often have intermetent internet connection, making the app unusable in these situations.
    Allow the app to be used offline and synchronize as soon as internet connection is available.

    The app technically "works" offline, but it still "thinks about" whether or not it has an internet connection for much too long. If there is, say, a button to toggle between Offline vs. Connected mode, perhaps then I could help the app out myself and input items into the app faster because I have told it myself to stop looking for the internet. I travel about 42 weeks out of the year for work, so internet connectivity is sparse.

    Even so, perhaps it could do "data dumps" instead of having to constantly sync after every individual item.

    I have the latest iOS version and it does not allow me to add an expense to an existing group. It gives me an error message about international roaming being switched off.

    The offline mode in iOS is very limited. Items input offline are not listed/ visible/ editable in the app until it's sync'ed, so the app has really limited use in plane mode or abroad where roaming data is unavailable.
    Another app, TripSplitter, works offline but then has limited online/ cloud capabilities.

    I'm definitely looking for this too because when you are on vacation, it's pretty common to be unable to connect to the internet. Plane, remote area, etc. So the more offline capability the app has the more I will use it. Usually on the plane is when I want to reconcile a lot of those things. Can't come soon enough.

    I've a vacation in one month, and need the ability to add bills in the vacation.
    If it couldn't happen, i should use some offline application to add bills, and manually sync every other time when connection available.
