This was suggested in 2012... any chance it’s been done?

It would be so useful to set budgets/amounts in different category’s so in a shared house we can stick to a monthly amount. It currently just lets you keep track which is great, but we keep finding our monthly out goings are super high as each housemate spends for the house but their is no budget to follow.

À Must for your application. With budget, i will go pro for this upgrade. Now usine splitwise and moneyboard, i trully prefered splitwise but no budget, impossible to analyse goals

How about if you could add budget and see how much you have spent per month or even add the receipt to it.

Be able to set a notification when there's more than x$ of debt. It's not always convenient to send money when it's a small amount. It'd be nice to build up a debt, but have Splitwise warn you when it's growing too much (the user would set this limit, according to his preference)

This would be wildly helpful!

E.g set up an alert when someone owes me £50, suggesting to settle up.

I am actually looking for an option in splitwise where I can split my monthly expenses and calculate/ plan my monthly budget accordingly, so I would like to know if there is any option like this which could help me out in planning my monthly expenses.

Create an option for threshold owed amounts. Meaning, the app should allow users to set a mutually agreed "owed threshold" amount, crossing which, the person who reaches the owed threshold limit should first settle up via any payment modes. This way the app can also help users to keep settling up and not just keep adding and reducing expenses.

Uso la aplicacion con amigos, pero tambien para los gastos mensuales con mi pareja y nos ha surgido la ocasión en la que no nos queremos gastar más de 100€ por persona del grupo. Estaría bien configurarlo para que te avise cuando te acercas o te pasas. con mi pareja igual, si no queremos pasarnos de gastar entre los los 900 euros al mes, por ejemplo

It would be very interesting to be able to create a personal or maybe common ‘budget’.

This could be really useful in order to plan a journey and knowing the money you have left to spend on it when you are already traveling.

i love your app! it's awesome. been recommending it to my friends and they all love it too. i suggest you can add a function where i can set a specific budget. so i can monitor much how left i can spend.currently i'm using two apps when travelling with friends. Splitwise and TrabeePocket.

add feature to set a budget amount for a trip where expenses are to shared amongst friends (using a % split) and the expenses are tracked against a specified budget per person. those who want to spend more can, those who want to spend less can, and each individual can track what they have spent so far against an individual budget.

Threshold and reminder options for limit we gave.

We have created a group for Flat daily expenses, as per our rule our budget for month is 8,000. In splitwise, we do not have an option to find how much is pending for the month, so that we can plan the rest of the days. if that option is available it will be an added feature and we do not require any other app for that.

I use a Splitwise group with my girlfriend and we always add our expenses when one of us buys something for both of us (grocery shopping, eating out etc.)
Now we both have a reminder in our calendar to check our group once a month and balance it out (by transferring the amount via bank transfer). Sometimes our group is almost balanced at the end of the month though so it's not really worth it...
What would be really cool would be an option where we could say "send a reminder to a person if the balance goes over/under a certain threshold". So for example, we would say that my girlfriend is notified if she owes me more than 500€ (not at the end of the month but immediately when an expense is added that moves the balance over the threshold).

Also in the web app, add Budget managment feauters, like total all Expenses, for all and each. you can also add a categories for the Expenses, and managing for them.
