Bank account details somewhere/anywhere
Hi. Liking this service so far.
Its nice keeping track of debts, however, it is not much use not knowing how to pay it. (Not everyone uses paypal).
In UK and Australia, someone just needs bank account details to do a transfer. Would be nice either to have one or all of the following:
My own account details available for my friends to see. Even if not in their own fields, maybe in a "other info" memo type field.
Or be able to put my own comments on my friends so I can make a note of their account details. (or if I think they arent good at paying back)
When the expense is added... to explicitly send a custom email out to the involved people with my bank account details
I understand that it can be hard trying to look at expenses from different granularities, ie "how much in total do I owe this person" vs "how much is owed for this expense" vs "how much for this group for this person"
Keep up the good work!
Storing bank account #s is unfortunately tricky, as there are some serious security concerns around bank #s here in the US and in some other countries. Still, we’d like to do it if possible. It’s not on our roadmap yet, but we’re definitely considering it for the future.

Dear Splitwise team,
I love your app and I'm already using it to manage almost all my money expenses. It would be great at this point if you connected the app to my bank account so that you could provide (as a premium feature) statistics about my money, where does it comes from, where does it go etc.
I think it would be far better than all those bank account managing apps just because Splitwise is already so useful with managing expenses.Thank you!
Domenico

The auto pop up message at settle up, is entirely pre-written. It will be great if a part is pre allowed for the user to write which is clubbed with your message at output.
This will be great for me to add my Bank details for settling up. Or other information with the group which is going to be common. It's a great pain to copy paste, say my Bank details, for a group of 16, every time I hit settle up.
Since this would be a part of my personal message, no compliance would be required. -

Whenever someone owes me and they want to settle up they always ask for my account no so that they can transfer the amount right away. I was just thinking it would be easy if the account no was displayed in the UI.

Can you provide the feature of sending your account details to all the people who owe your any money in splitwise .This will ease the pain of sending the account details to each and everyone indivisually

Until you roll out an official way to add bank account numbers, it would be great if comments were at least copyable. Right now, my friends and I have tried using the comment section in the group to post our IBAN numbers, but since it's not possible to copy the text, this doesn't even serve as a workaround.

For bank details, something like default description or comment for every expense would be enough.
Just IBAN and account holders name is needed there. -

Can't you guys just make a email signature type thing and whenever we add an expense that signature will automatically be added in notes part and users can use it to write method of payment :D

There should be a note field for a person. There are probably many applications to this but for me personally, it'll be a good place for me to store friend's bank account number so I could transfer them money to settle bill via online banking. I keep asking the same friends for her account number because I don't have a good place to store it.

In Europe it's rather common to wire money between friends as wire transfers are free. Account numbers are often shared and public, and there are no privacy concerns in doing so, as you cannot really (ab)use this number to do evil.
For me just having the number somewhere in a profile free-text field would be more than enough. Something like a free-form description where my friends can put anything would be awesome. I'd imagine that those willing to would just put their account number there, to simplify payments.

Is it possible to see someones account number in their profile?

You could add support for iZettle and Square too

Want this too! Without it, how would people be able to pay when you never use cash, and demanding that other users have Paypal or Venmo is too much? I would then have to manually send an email with account details. Meaning this app only helps me halfways.
Easiest is to store it under user profile. If there is a concern with security, then add a pin code to be able to see the bank account number. (Then again, dont see much concern that people can see my account number.)

Any kind of input field in the profile would do. As of now me and my friends put our account number after our name. It should be up to the user if it is any security risk. Here in Norway, and most of Europe, a single account number isn't of any security concern.

This is needed so that friends who owe me money can transfer me money directly. As of now, they keep asking for my bank a/c info every time! This will make your experience more complete. I hope you guys figure a way out to do this

Yes, friends now have to email or text me to get my bank account number. Just add a simple text field for this info so those who owe money can see it.

One very easy feature to add right now is just field in the user settings for people to add their bank account info. That way, when you owe someone money, just go to their profile and read off the bank account number instead of having to exchange this info manually.

Yes please, all we're asking for is a mechanism to store and note preferred payment mechanism... eg bank code (aka sort code in the UK; BSB in Australia) and account number.
Other mechanisms can be provided (eg Cash).
We're not asking you to facilitate the payment with the bank itself. -

Yes, please make it possible to add a bank account number to one's profile. This is basic stuff in some similar services. You don't have to provide a whole payment provider service (at least for now).

I was going to suggest the same. It does not have to be the whole banking solution. Being able to post my own bank account number would be nice so people wouldn't have to sent me a message asking for it each time. It could be as easy as adding a comment/details section to My account that will show up when people view my profile.
