Split groups of expenses
It would great to be able to group expenses such that only expenses in that group will be reconciled. Other expenses involving the same people would not be included in the "person a owes person b" amounts for that expense group.
The use case for this is that in some instances certain debts may need to be resolved before others. Grouping them would allow us to settle specific debts on differing timetables.

Hey Joseph – are you aware of our “groups” feature? It does basically what you describe. You can create a new group by hitting the menu button in the upper-left, and then choosing “Create a new group”.
Let me know if I’ve misunderstood your suggestion!

Hey Joe – actually, our "groups" feature is intended for grouping expenses! For example, I have an "apartment" group for my current apartment, plus a "ski trip" group for a recent trip (with my housemates as well as a few other people). We settled up the "ski trip" group separately when we got home, and didn't combine it with our apartment expenses.
Does that make sense? Let me know if you have questions or if I'm still misunderstanding, but I believe you can already do what you're trying to do on Splitwise.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I know you can create groups of people but I'm suggesting the grouping of expenses. For instance if I want to group all the expenses from a trip and the app would allow those specific expenses to be settled seperately from other expenses even if they may be with the same people.
