Groups to include couples
It would be really great if there was a way to add "double weight" to some people in a group. I.e. I have a group of travelers that includes some singles and some couples. It would be easier to just have one member of the couple in the group, but have them count as two people when dividing expenses. Is there some way to do this that I am missing?

When adding an expense on web, Android, or iPhone, you can click on “split equally” and split by shares instead, assigning multiple shares to someone.

How does this work if one person of the couple pays and the other does now but you are still splitting evenly and they need to get money back...? So I did a trip with 4 people. Two individuals and one couple. We are splitting everything 4 ways but only 3 people paid and need to exchange money. The 4th is just to have for splitting costs - how can I arrange this in splitwise?

Agree with the comments. Using shares definitely works, but it'd be nice to have it as a default setting for the whole group/trip. Thanks!

I see that you can split individual expenses by shares, which is helpful, but I don't the option to split the entire trip that way. Am I missing it?

Manually adjusting shares is a lot more complicated than simply defining a "couple" or "family" entity such that family member A can pay once for all members of the family, even when (especially when) the bill is split equally amongst all participants.
