   Thanks for the suggestion – I can see how that would be useful! Our travel calculator (http://splitwise.com/calculators/travel) does something like this, so it is a problem we’ve thought about before, though not exactly in this way. I’ll pass on your idea and add it to our list of possible future updates.

   You're welcome! I will write my own tool to manage occupancy dates in the meantime then. And I'd be happy to provide you with the source code once it exists, to save you the time of writing and testing that calculation if you do choose to add such a feature in the future :-)
