Hey Annant – thanks for the interesting suggestion! I don’t think we’re likely to change the main way that bills are displayed, but I could see this as a really useful alternate view, or as part of a summary view. We’re hoping to add some better summary features next year, so I’ll pass on your thoughts at our next design meeting and see what the rest of the team thinks :)

This would be a very good feature – we’ve talked about it before, but haven’t gotten around to adding it yet. Thanks for the suggestion!

We aren’t planing to add support for custom categories in the near future. We’re considering better ways to allow people to sort expenses into categories other than the ones we’ve provided. In the meantime, if there are particular important categories you feel are missing, feel free to email us with a suggestion at support@splitwise.com.

while entering an expense a drop down list showing pervious expense names with date would help in avoiding duplicate bills
