    That totally makes sense. Currently, you can invite people using their phone number or email ID, and if they’re already on Splitwise, we do the right thing and link that invite to their existing account. We could look at your address book contacts and probably figure out who is already using Splitwise, so that you are able to add expenses with them directly by using their name.

    I’ll be sure to bring this up with the team the next we’re working on our invite/friends logic. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Team Splitwise, look at how Venmo does user onboarding (which has led to their growth)

    Sample user story: I am a new user and I am invited by friend A to SplitWise. I join.
    Now I know my friend B is on SplitWise already, BUT currently I have to "Invite" friend B to SplitWise.
    I do invite friend B, but now I'm waiting on email to go and person to confirm.
    Instead if I was able to search users already present on SplitWise and confirm that yes friend B with account friend-B is my friend, I can start Splitting bills from the get go.
    Instead now we are waiting on email chain and confirmation etc...
    Just creates a lag in the creation of groups with people already present on the platform.
