Give the option to eliminate the $ sign
We have multi-currency groups with different types of dollars in them. I believe my default currency is Singapore Dollars, so when I enter SGD, Splitwise changes that to $. I would rather I had the option to have all currencies displayed by their ISO symbol, i.e. SGD/USD/CAD, etc. This would remove all ambiguity.

I’m not sure if this is something we would change at the moment, but I can see how it would be helpful in your situation. I’ll leave this open for further voting for now, apologies for any inconvenience! -
Option to group expenses in Graphs
Being able to have a graphical report in Splitwise is what made try it this month for the household expenses. But I would like to have the option to see the graph of expenses with the overall category. For example: not just "cinema", "dining out", etc. but the option to see all "entertainment" as one slice of the graph, as well as "housing" and "utilities". That would be more very helpful for budgeting - again the reason I'm trying Splitwise (and Pro)

Feedback
There's no good reason why giving Feedback prompts for my email address and name once I've logged into Splitwise. Use Single-Sign On or OAuth or any of the other technologies that are available.
1 voteThis is definitely that would be nice to add. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!
We’ll leave this under review and hopefully be able to improve it at some point.

Have all details viewable (comments, notes, etc.) for all transactions, including deleted ones.
I add comments on transactions before I delete them, noting why they were deleted.
I can see the details of deleted transactions on Splitwise Mobile App, but I cannot see them on the web app.
Please allow us to see all details. :)

Utility meter bill calculator
Hi Spltiwise,
I'm into my second year using Splitwise and I really enjoy it.
I use to manage all utility bills in a student house in the UK.
The way electricity and gas bills are done in the UK is on credit meters and commonly now a house's yearly usage is estimated and payments averaged over 12 months. And I have to take monthly meter readings for the utility company. This is naturally a nightmare to organize splitting my gas and electric bills. Because often housemates are away, so it's not a simple split.
What I currently do is manually…

Payment Not Categorized Correctly
For the expense Incurred in the month, we make payment or receive payment. These are recorded as Payments. When you go to all Expense, Under View Trends and View Chart details, it will show the expense for that month. There will be a total row which includes the payments made/received during that month. These settlements are part of the earlier expense made which are included in the previous sub section due to which its getting double counted. So it would be nice if a sub total be included before the payment and then another total including payment if needed.
Please…
11 votesThanks for the suggestion! Makes sense that there should be a subtotal of total spending before payments. Sorry for the inconvenience for now!

Multiply items on Itemized Bill
It would be great if I could enter in Itemized Bill how many items did I buy and from there, the web app would multiply this amount by price for 1 piece to get the total price.
Lets say I bought 4 boxes of milk for $10 each.
Right now I would enter it like this:
4 Milks, $40What I'd rather do is this:
Milk, 4 boxes, $10 each, total $40
This gives me better understanding of how many boxes did we bought and what was the price for 1 box.
14 votesThanks for your suggestion! We’re not currently planning any significant changes to the itemized bill form, but I see how this would be a useful addition. I’ll leave this open for further voting and pass along the suggestion.

multiple default currency for participants
I think the original currency should be converted at the time of settlement - so the original currency/price pair will be kept. This would allow different default currency of participants - for example in europe it is not uncommon that people in one group use different currencies. (EUR/CZK..) With current setup, bills are converted to one currency globally in group.
thanks

Plates: Real-time bill
Sometimes it can be very challenging to keep up with who orders what and how much. Sometimes we spend a bit of time asking around. How about real-time bill? This allows the host (or whoever is willing to use the app) to actively split the bill during the event and it is time-stamped.
Scenario:
-5 friends show up and orders a few drinks
-20 min later, they order snacks
-30 min later, 2 more friends shows up and places more orders
-Repeat until all friends are present and placed all orders.Issue (towards the end):
-Some were drunk. They don’t…3 votesThanks for posting your suggestions! We’re a small team and haven’t been able to put a lot of energy into our Plates app. I’ll leave this under review for now.
There’s already a post with a request to add more people, check it out here: https://splitwise.uservoice.com/forums/162446-general/suggestions/20113906-plates-to-increase-the-possible-number-of-people

Make "Add a Bill" a floating action button
Currently, if I'm scrolling through old transactions and want to add a bill, I have to scroll back up to the top of the page to hit the "Add a Bill" button. If this were a FAB I could add a transaction from anywhere in the history.
11 votesThanks for this suggestion! I can see how that would be helpful. I’ll leave this open for further voting.

Plates: to increase the possible number of people
It would be great to have the possibility to use the app for up to 20 people. I often have the case were we are more than 10!
5 votesThanks for the suggestion! We would love to add support for larger parties but we’ve struggled with trying to think of good ways to display more than 10 plates.
