Recurring expenses with varying costs
Allow users to add recurring expenses that will vary in cost month to month and prompt the user for that months cost.
Updating this as it’s been a while. You can currently accomplish this by setting your expense to recur every month and then editing the amount on the expense once it posts.
Apologies that we don’t have a better way of managing this yet!

I'd like to know where you are on this? I'd also appreciate if anyone knows any workarounds as well. Our electricity bill varies every month, so do many of our other bills. I set it as recurring and entered $1.00 so my flatmate understands not to pay it yet. If I update the amount, it will update for all future occurrences as well. An easy fix would be a prompt after updating the amount to say "update this occurence or all future occurrences as well?" Quite a simple fix in the interim, no?
I'm a bit put off by the fact that this has been on your roadmap for over 10 years and something that applies to likely every single user, no less!

Recurring expenses with varying costs are those expenses that occur regularly but with different costs each time. These expenses can be challenging to budget for, as they require flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing costs.
Some examples of recurring expenses with varying costs include:
Utility bills: The cost of utilities like electricity, gas, and water can vary depending on usage and rates.
Groceries: The cost of groceries can fluctuate depending on the cost of food items, seasonal availability, and personal preferences.
Transportation: The cost of transportation, such as gas, tolls, and public transportation, can vary depending on the distance traveled, mode of transportation, and fuel prices.
Health care: The cost of health care, including insurance premiums and copays, can vary depending on the provider, coverage level, and medical needs.
Entertainment: The cost of entertainment, including dining out, movies, and concerts, can vary depending on the venue, time of day, and popularity.
To manage recurring expenses with varying costs, it is essential to track expenses carefully and adjust your budget as needed. You can also consider using tools like budgeting apps or spreadsheets to help you track and manage your expenses. Additionally, it's important to prioritize your spending and cut back on non-essential expenses when necessary.

My living situation involves roommates, and it would be quite convenient to have recurring invoices for which one need simply adjust the amount paid each time. https://2048.onl
Really wish there was support for this. I split rent, internet and electricity bill with my roommate. The electricity bill is the only one that is variable month to month. I use the workaround of updating the amount once it posts each month, but its kind of a pain to remember to keep track of it.
Do we have this feature now? if not whats the other solution

This would be quite useful for my internet bill!

Not sure if it is possible, but one way I would think is possible is by using a pop up notification, either on the person who created the recurring bill or everyone who is involved in the bill. The notification is shown on a predefined date, and all one has to do is add the amount for that particular month, and it can then be added to the total.
Disregard my post; I found the feature. Thanks!
My bills are the same every month, please allow us to simply copy that bill every month and yes, if we can change the amount a person owes (because portions or total may vary month to month) that would be great.

I'm in a roommate situation and it would be great to have reoccurring bills that you only need to alter the amount.
Also group totals that cancel each other out.
(i.e. If I owe John $200 for bill A and I paid $150 for bill B, it should have a total column that says I owe John $50 for the difference.)
i see the last comment on this request was almost a year ago. i would love to be able to edit upcoming bills. is this still being considered???
This shouldn't be that difficult. Just make it so that the bill recurs but has no cost associated with it. Ideally, it would send an email to notify, but even without that notification, it would still be way, way easier to use than it is now. Managing my account is a nightmare because I have 5 recurring bills that all have different costs every month. I never know if I've remembered to enter Time Warner's bill from 2 months ago or my electric bill for last month. If I were able to have monthly recurring charges, it would be easy for me to look back and see the months where I haven't yet entered the cost of the bill. This would make this product 10000x more useful to roommates who are managing bills.
Prehaps when setting up the bill add an additional step for bills that have varying amounts, and simply have an email go out to whomever genreally handles the bill where they can either respond to the message with the total or add it into the app each month
