Confirm cancel/escape of itemised bill adding
If we accidentally press Esc or if we happen to click outside the bill entering area, the and new bill popup disappears. We have to enter the whole bill allover again.
Ask for a confirmation from the user before cancelling the bill addition

please save a draft once itemized expense is put. It is painful to update again if we click outside the itemized expense window and we lose all the entries

In web app, when we accidentally click outer window or click cancel, the window just disappear and everything's gone.
- The click on outer window should be ignored.
- When the form is not empty, clicking cancel should ask confirmation. It is very annoying when you almost filled up everything, you accidentally click on outside and it's just disappear. I need to redo. ?

For me it's even worse than what people complain here.
My window is also closed and every filled detail lost whenever I select some text, e.g. in the notes, and by chance finish the frag-drop (to select) outside of the textarea, which is a completely valid move in every program I know of. The window that receives the drag/select event is the one where it started, not where it ended. This is so annoying

On the desktop version, clicking outside the 'Expense or Settle' popup box will close your progress. I accidentally click outside the box multiple times, and lose my entire progress. It would be very useful if you could implement a popup warning or something to avoid these instances.

When I add an itemized expense on web, if I hit accidentally ESC partway through, the window closes and all my expense data is lost. It would be great to alert me when this happens so I can avoid closing the expense on accident and losing everything I've input.

This is extremely frustrating, and my only serious issue with Splitwise. Please consider changing this behavior.

This is important and very easy to fix!! It's not the new fancy features, but the basic functionality that would boost the User Experience. It's been more than two years and you haven't fixed this yet.
You would save me from frustrated screams of my roommate when this happens. :D :D
Thanks!

This is a major pain point when using Splitwise on iPad, is a constant scare to press that "Done" button in hopes i dont accidentally tap outside and lose all the bill.

Right now I was entering a new bill and had filled in 4 fields including many details in the notes when I accidentally clicked-off to the side of the expense. Shockingly, it just erased my not-yet-completed new bill entry and data!
It should either not close / abandon the new bill entry if there are any fields entered or ask the user if they are ok with erasing/losing the data or if they want to continue.

Hello,
I last requested this over a year ago, and it still gets me regularly. Any updates?

Hi! This has been bugging me for awhile.
- Click "Add a bill".
- Click outside of the window that appears.OBSERVE: The window disappears, possibly losing any data you just input.
EXPECTED: Nothing should happen to the window unless you click an explicit close button, as is a common graphic user interface convention.
I don't know who else is annoyed by this but wanted to point it out. Can you please fix it? :)

This happens too often to me and it's incredibly frustrating! This feature would be supremely helpful.

Thirded, happened in October. After inputting a lot of data including a photo, itemized list in the notes section, and a custom split. Non-trivial to reinput.
