Bank account details somewhere/anywhere
Hi. Liking this service so far.
Its nice keeping track of debts, however, it is not much use not knowing how to pay it. (Not everyone uses paypal).
In UK and Australia, someone just needs bank account details to do a transfer. Would be nice either to have one or all of the following:
My own account details available for my friends to see. Even if not in their own fields, maybe in a "other info" memo type field.
Or be able to put my own comments on my friends so I can make a note of their account details. (or if I think they arent good at paying back)
When the expense is added... to explicitly send a custom email out to the involved people with my bank account details
I understand that it can be hard trying to look at expenses from different granularities, ie "how much in total do I owe this person" vs "how much is owed for this expense" vs "how much for this group for this person"
Keep up the good work!
Storing bank account #s is unfortunately tricky, as there are some serious security concerns around bank #s here in the US and in some other countries. Still, we’d like to do it if possible. It’s not on our roadmap yet, but we’re definitely considering it for the future.

There can be profile setting where people add their PayPal or IBAN details and it'll be shown to your groups.

so that i would not need to ask every friend what is you bank account num. there should be this section under the user profile.

It's not about adding payment in-app, just for providing information of an actual payment ways for your debtors.

Maybe an info field for the profile.
Here in Australia, we have something called a PayID, which is a handle linked to your bank account to receive payments instantly from any other bank. If there's an info field in your profile, one can mention the PayID or even the bank a/c# or whatever they prefer to facilitate the payment. -

For example, I owe 500 to one of my friend. So I will call him and ask for account details like account number, name, IFSC details, MICR code etc. To know these details I have to call him and save it some where.
Here my idea is to give account option details while a new user register with Splitwise. It will make easy to the payee like the payee need not to ask him again for the account details. (Give an option to save the bank account details while creating account or already created Splitwise account) -

For Indian users, can you link UPI with the app for bills settlement. Paytm link had been quite helpful but everyone is moving towards direct Bank transfers. you could capture the same market!

It would be helpful if we could add our bank account details in our profile description... so that others can easily look it up if they want to pay us back....

so suggesting you to have personal whiteboard functionality to save our personal stuffs. -

Doing so, the user may be able to look after others bank information and deposit the debts they have

1. So as we could get account details from this app only for settling expense.
2. We need not required to go to bank apps for payment settlement. -

here in Brazil we pay to transfer money If the banks are different from each other. if i need to pay to someone who its bank is the same as mine, it would make it a lot easier

It would be great, if one could provide settlement information in the profile.
Like (all free form):
IBAN EUR: XXXXX
IBAN CHF: YYYYY
TWINT: 49453265 (mobile p2p payment option)
BITCON: jfndgjndjgnThis suggestion is about removing the friction of communicating the different channels people can use to send actual money around, not about integrating any of the channels with splitwise.

how about to add just an info box to a friend? i talk about a little textbox to add some info (like bankaccount) to a friend. Is this possible?

We have a few groups on splitwise where we settle things up, be it for colleagues, drink buddies or trek mates. The problem is we normally expect a single bank account where the money would be sent and then it would be distributed to the people who would receive it. The only place where the data can be put is on the "Whiteboard" tab. However, the tab is not easily visible and causes a lot of confusion among people. Can we rather have an availability of sticky notes that can be added to the top of the group that can have certain information for the group members?

Hi there. I'm new to Splitwise. It's such a cool concept, but I find it odd that there is no field in the user to just add you bank details for when you owe someone, since it is a PAYING BACK APP!
Bonus would be a field to specify how you would like to be paid, i.e. Cash, Direct Bank Payment, etc.

allow users to add bank account details, so friends can copy it from the platform, and make sure it is mentioned in the exports.

So you don't need to ask your friends for their account numbers (of course, with high privacy mesures)
