Wanted to let you know that Splitwise is now supported on Zapier, a platform very similar to IFTTT: https://zapier.com/zapbook/splitwise/
Unfortunately we have been unable to make gains re: being added to the IFTTT platform. Thanks for your patience.

Right now, I have several recurring monthly expenses, but the actual amounts change month-to-month. So, I regularly have to go back and modify Splitwise expenses for utilities, as an example.
Since I receive statements via email, I could set a recipe that automatically detects messages based on IFTTT parameters, then detect the 'amount due' and add the entry to SW. Entries could be assigned to specified groups, and a confirmation notification could be used to verify the data is correct.
Creating an API for importing and exporting data in Splitwise would allow users to spend less time on data entry and more time on winning! I'm a paying member, and I appreciate the continued dedication to improvement.

Updating this as it’s been a while. We’ve discussed this a few times and can see how it would be useful in a few cases (such as mass-moving expenses between groups – if you or anyone else needs help with that, feel free to send us a support email). We’ll keep it open for now for further voting and comments.

With bulk entry, I could quickly add expenses from a) the same provider over multiple months, b) multiple providers in the same month, or c) any combination of the two. I could then assign dates, groups, types, etc for each item before submitting the batch.
The UI might look like a Splitwise-ified mini spreadsheet where you can dynamically add and delete rows.
Thanks!

We agree that managing recurring bills could be better. Currently, the way to edit recurring bills is to change the most recent copy and that will change ones that follow. It will not affect the past expenses.
We’re considering how to improve this, and will leave this under review for now.Owen Bickford supported this idea ·
I'm new to Zapier, but I love the Javascript code support. I have a new Zap up and running now. The only thing that seems to be missing so far is a date field for Splitwise.
Could the date field be included in this API? This way, the expense would appear on the due date instead of the received email date.
