Hey there – sorry for the trouble! I’m afraid the Splitwise app only supports emails or push notifications right now, and not badges on the app icon. Splitwise should send you a push notification by default any time that another person adds a bill or payment with you, but you can turn off those notifications from the “notifications” section of the settings screen.

We’d definitely like to overhaul our iOS offline support at some point. It’s not actually on our roadmap yet, but hopefully it’s something we can start working on soon.

Our next update to the Excel feature is to bring it to mobile. Not sure when we’ll have the bandwidth to consider functionality on the whole. Sorry for any inconvenience! Zoe

We’d love to make Splitwise better for tracking personal expenses (though we’re mostly focused on splitting for the time being). For now, your best bet is probably to make a new group for personal expenses, with yourself as the only member.
